Anyone DirecTV 4K user's have a Vertex?

Hi guys - Do any of your have a HDFury Vertex connected with your DirecTV 4K set up? If so, I would like to know what exactly the HDR line of the OSD output from the Vertex shows when receiving HDR HLG, such as from the Masters, or any other such HLG broadcast. Can you please see this https://www.avsforum.com/forum/37-vid...l#post56080666 and let me know? Thank you.

My upgrade charge was zero but have been with Directv a long time.

Hello, everyone.

I just had my HR 21 replaced with a HR 24 due to networking/whole home issues. It was 10 years old anyway. The problems is my external drive is recognized and shows my old playlist, but it won't play them. I know I need to reformat drive to get it synced with new HR receiver, but I am not sure how to do it. Any suggestions or tips?

TIA, James

it should reformat when you power up the receiver

unplug receiver, plug in drive, plug in receiver and turn on
see what happens

Ok. I will try that. I did record a short segment on it and played it back in the living room. The new 24 is in the master bedroom. I saw on another site, that i just needed to delete all recordings on that drive, but I am waiting to see if I get a response.

The tech also swapped out LNB for a Reverse Band LNB. He tried to tell me that my LNB was swapped out 2 years ago when I got my HR 54. He was a 3rd party tech, not impressed, almost rude at times.

Quick question. I now have 3 4K TVs, 2 connected with C61Ks, the 3rd one to the HR 54. So to connect the 3rd 4K TV, I need another C61K, so HR 54 to C61K to the 3rd 4K TV. I presume they will charge me another $7 per month for the 3rd C61K and could they mail it to me or will it require a service call?

DTV fixed a bug what require, sometimes !, reformat HDD when it comes to different STB. There is always in system test menu a choice to force STB do the routine (restart STB, press Select to invoke System test menu). Other solution is - you got it - delete all records. BTW OTA records will play normally, as they did not encrypted.
As to new RB DLNB - that's your win, it's support 22 tuners (by having internal SWM switch) and require just one coax cable from it to your home, to a simple splitter. Less parts, less heat, less failures.

yes, for each active client [HR54, C61k or RVU TV] you must pay the $7/m.
Perhaps it will better for your account to ask an upgrade to HS17 server (no fee) and three C61k clients; it will give two active UHD streams/TV viewing as HR54 support only one and counting as a device with monthly fee. Check the thread for pro&contra of HS17 vs HR54

What is the model number of the new RB LNB that you are referring to and recommend?

Thanks I will check on that. I presume as always, that I will lose whatever recordings I have on the HR 54 when I change to the HS 17. There still is no way to transfer??

Adding a 3rd C61K Client

I just got through chatting with AT&T. I just bought another 4K TV in addition to the two I have now. So I currently have an HR54 and 2 C61K Clients. I checked with AT&T and they want $99 for the client and $49 for installation. I have had 4K with Directv since it came out. I did not have to pay for the equipment then, only the install and they also changed the LNB at the same time. Seems to me they are getting a little unreasonable so I passed for now. Anyone have similar issues with AT&T and their charges?? I wonder what they would charge for an HS17??

You said “chat.” If you were typing at someone, call the 800# and talk to someone. Are you in a contract? If not, get to retention’s and say you want to leave. If you’re in a contract, do you have the insurance plan? That may help for upgrades. Good luck, charm them.

Agree with above. They wanted me to pay for additional clients and I asked to have them transfer me to cancel since I’ve never had to pay and wasn’t going to this time either. After the “spoke” to their supervisor, they offered the clients and installation for free since I was a “good” customer.

Sorry for late reply; no new fees other than standard monthly fee for new receiver and after I got the new billing straightened out to what I was quoted (and got in writing) but it took some time on the phone with DTV’s sorry ass billing department.

Has anyone noticed the 4K special programs listing hasn’t been updated since April ended? Sigh. Maybe it’s going the way of 3D now.

Is anyone having problems with caption and/or subtitles?. I sent this message to Directv tonight:

Thanks. Started watching Mark Felt movie tonight on channel 526 Starz on HR 54. Seems like when a different person starts speaking, it’s not captioning the first sentence. This is the case using captions or subtitles. Same problem.

It is also not receiver or channel dependent and started about 7-10 days ago.

I'm still on an HR 44 but I've noticed similar things with the closed captioning lately, so I suspect it's something on their end or with their CC provider.

Most times it doesn't get the first line of a multi-line statement and it also leaves out the first part of words or combines the first part of one word with the last part of the next word. I'm glad it's not just me!

Yup and we’re well into May. You’d think they could make it live so as data populates it just updates the page.

Well best I could do was get a reduced install fee of $25 and no charge for the C61K. Coming Thursday to install. Still in contract until July 2018.

My latest bill stated I was in the “Gold” tier customer status. First I noticed it was on this months bill. Anyone else have a tier on their bill or online?

Trying to follow this thread.I still have the hr44/700 genie plus 3 mini's. I actually contacted DTV via chat and as others have stated only 3 channels right now. Those of you that have upgraded has it been worth it just for 3 channels? I don't know what those channels are or the programing . would love to upgrade since I've been with DTV along time but I just don't see it as of yet to upgrade.Just asking of opinions of those that did.

I've read hundreds opinions about the DTV three UHD channels... here and at dbstalk ... my head is still spinning, each poster have own view and many of them opposite

I don't understand how I would base my own desire on someone else opinion in such subjective matter as UHD viewing;
knowing schedule of 104-105-106 and watching UHD samples at stores, I'm not rush to buy new UHD TV. Yet.
