Comes up as DV on my TV and my projector shows it's getting a 4K HDR signal.

4K DV. We watched all 8 yesterday. Looks great, and despite the lack of Atmos, the sound is very well done. Without spoiling, two of the recurring elements throughout the season really shake the room!

Just watched it . Better than season 2 for sure . Lots of 80's references throughout the show and one that surprised me . In episode 6 there is a scene of two of the characters tied to chairs lying on the floor and as they are talking an excerpt of the score for Day of the Dead 1985 is playing in the background . Cool !

Nice pickup! Only seen DotD once, so I missed it. There’s so much 80’s obvious product placement. I was 9 in 1984, and the old packaging on the products in Melvald’s were killing me!

There was a poster for it at the cinema.

Episode 8 (finale) looked fantastic in 4K Dolby Vision...

After the first two (very slow) episodes, the rest of the season was very well done..much better than Season 2

Finished it. I really liked it but I did not like how they made Harper into this yelling, constantly mad person. I don't recall him being this over the top in past seasons. He was constantly yelling at people and just seemed always angry.

VERY touching ending.

Solid season with some absolutely great references to the 80's.

Here is a spoiler for those that have seen it all.

Spoiler!

Hmm!! Season 3 started with a good vibe but soon lost it by episode 3 and really as much as I wanted to like it! that just wasn't the case! Sound was fantastic as well as the HDR but not enough to further enhance my interest like the first, second was good but overall as a series looks like its getting ho hum !

just finished up Season 3...overall I thought it was the best season yet...highlights: the production values were amazing...the creature effects in particular looked movie quality...best new character: most people will say Robin but I say it was that Russian Terminator, Grigori...he was just so bad-ass...they should have hired him for the new Terminator movie to play the new liquid metal Terminator...Robin is 1B as far as best newbie...she totally looks like her famous parents (Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke)...they also once again nailed the 80's nostalgia and music

lowlights: too much Erica...she was good in small doses in S2 but she became way too annoying in S3...also way too much forced comedy in S3...was a bit too much at times

Dolby Vision looked very good but not reference quality...the HDR enhanced the colors and gave it a really nice natural look but it didn't seem to have enough pop...maybe this is what HDR is supposed to do versus making things standout too much but I've seen better DV implementation in shows like Jack Ryan and Altered Carbon...audio was excellent...every time that creature roared or was attacking the audio was pretty impressive...the epilogue was interesting and unexpected

as far as the big death...

Spoiler!

It has been confirmed there will be a 4th and possibly a 5th season. I would be okay if it ended now because that was a perfect and emotional ending to S3.

Two episodes into S3 and, overall, not terribly impressed. Too much teen fluff, and the transformation of Mike from precocious to disrespectful and foul-mouthed is particularly discordant. The darker moments, however, are interesting and the ending to Ep2 implies better things to come. Fingers crossed...

Man, what a great follow up season. The mix of comedy and heart along with the dark stuff is just about perfect.

I am also two eps in and am not feeling the love. Mike is a punk who needs a wakeup call. Hopefully the next eps get much better. I really enjoyed season 1. Season two was decent.

On Saturday before the kids got distracted by boyfriends/friends we decided to watch one eisode and ended up watching five before a "boyfriend" couldn't be delayed any longer, so we finished up on Sunday. Stranger Things' First Season 4 Spoiler is Here: Portals Will Allow Characters to Travel 'Outside of Hawkins'

In a new interview, Stranger Things‘ dynamic duo, Matt and Ross Duffer, hint that Season 4 could find Eleven & Co. traveling overseas to (possibly) rescue one of their own...“We don’t want to write ourselves in a corner so we try to have these early discussions with the writers just to make sure that we’re setting ourselves up to go in the right direction,” says Ross Duffer...“We don’t know a lot, but we do know a lot of the big broad strokes"

"At the end of season two, we knew about Billy...We knew that the Russians were going to come in...We didn’t know the mall and stuff, but again, we know these big broad strokes...That’s sort of where we are in season four. We have the big broad strokes...It’s just now about filling in those lines in the details...We’re pretty excited about where it’s potentially going to go...Again, like we said, it’s going to feel very different than this season...But I think that’s the right thing to do and I think it’ll be exciting.”...

I watched episode 1 on the 4th. Episode 2 on the 6th. 3 on the 7th. 4 on the 8th. Then 5, 6, and 7 yesterday. Watched the finale this morning up to the coda - had to leave for work.

So, it definitely picked up.

Finished Ep2 last night, as mentioned above lots of teen drama so far.
I don't really mind though as I was still a teenager in 1980 and it's fun to see the everyday stuff like the Starcourt mall, et... that we had back then.

So Teen Vogue did an article on the fashion trend inspired by this show. My daughter has been making scrunchies as a side business for awhile. Got a small link in the article to her scrunchies. Kinda cool.

Sam Goody!...and now Netflix has partnered with Baskin-Robbins to open a few Scoops Ahoy locations in North America, complete with 80's decor and ambiance reminiscent of the show and the decade in which it takes place...I need to try the U.S.S. Butterscotch Sundae!!

Could not even finish the first episode of the third season. Boring nostalgia train bordering with plagiarism. Turned off after seeing the rip-off from a scene from Back to the Future when Marty puts on the pants and hits the floor.

If I want to listen to 1980s music I would rather watch The Americans. Or Deutschland 83.

but the best part to me about the opening was the music...they absolutely nailed the 80's soundtrack...the overall nostalgia is so well done...the little things they put in the background of scenes really takes you back to that time

all in all Episode 1 was a 10/10
Wow. I had the opposite impression. I thought it was the worst opening of the series and had it been a series I never saw before, I would have dumped it. Too much obvious stuff and cliched things. The music for the most part was horrible with obvious references to at least one other movie. I would peg that at a 3/10.

the best part of Stranger Things has always been the cast and their chemistry with each other...followed by the 80's nostalgia...if those 2 things don't interest you then you won't like the show...the story isn't all that amazing or unique but it works because of the child actors...the show is entertaining in a Spielberg-ian type of way but is not very deep or complex...
