I think I'm getting ready to drop this show, and wait and watch the rest of the season if it comes to Netflix at some point. Though I like the overall story, setting, and premise, I'm finding the poorly developed characters on the dull side, the villains to be one dimensional, and the tone too dreary. Five or six episodes in, I feel like I should care more about what happens to them, but other than Vanessa, I really don't in spite of the fair amount of action.

Contrary to what I said above, I would now put this show in the "it's okay" category -- which is fine for a summer show or a holiday hiatus show, but not for November sweeps month.

I think you've nailed this show pretty well. I'm giving it some rope mainly because of the channel. I think Syfy has amped up its quality of shows pretty well lately so I have some faith and apparently a whole bunch of rope.

I think this show has run out of rope. It's The Walking Dead with a slight situational twist, flat characters the viewer doesn't care about, and no sense of where it's going or a broader objective.

I got halfway through the last episode before deciding to say goodbye to the show.

Right there with you. I waited and wondered if the show was different or just written and acted badly. I decided it was the latter. I'm out.

Anyone still watching? I have a few stacked on my DVR. Wondering if it's worth it?

I'm still watching it, I may skip a week and catch up but I plan to watch all of them and if it gets picked up I'll probably watch next season as well.

I wonder what Mohamad is hiding? The way that "execution" scene went it seems they were trying to tell us something was amiss with how things were going down.

I'm still watching it each week. I either watch the episodes that Friday Night or sometime on Saturday. I'll continue watching especially since it was renewed for another season. I though the last episode was interesting with Sam.

Yeah, I'll probably keep watching. The episodes are starting to stack up tho. There's just so much stuff and not enough time.

Why was Vanessa so upset her daughter was there? Kill the lady, take her daughter and bite her. She is back to normal. Big deal.

Was the guy at the end a vampire or just beat up a lot when he crawled out of the ground?

Cliffhanger needed.

He crawled out of a pipe, not the ground. I wondered the same thing.

The way he was walking, the way he was making those grunting sounds, and the darkened area around the eyes made me think he had been turned. I just figured it was the way he got out and maybe he figured he could find Vanessa and be turned back.

And Vanessa was upset because it looked to me as if her daughter had been bitten/turned as well.

It was the escape pipe/ladder that they used to get out of the underground bunker.

Yes, but I don't think he'll stay that way, I'll bet he gets turned back soon. If the show is renewed that is, otherwise, he's stuck that way for eternity!

I guess it has been renewed, so he'll be human again I'm sure.

Just watched the season premier (season 3? IDK) off the DVR last night. Still fun! They had some entertaining slow motion fight sequences.

‘Van Helsing’ Renewed for Season 4 at Syfy, Sets New Showunner
By Joe Otterson, Variety.com - Dec. 18, 2018

Syfy has renewed “Van Helsing” for a fourth season ahead of the Season 3 finale.

13 new episodes of the action-horror series will air in 2019. In addition, Jonathan Walker has come onboard as showrunner for the new season, taking over from Neil LaBute.

The third season finale will air on Dec. 28.

“Van Helsing” airs on Syfy in the U.S. and on SuperEcran in Quebec, Canada. The series is available globally on Netflix. It stars Kelly Overton, Missy Peregrym, Jonathan Scarfe, Christopher Heyerdahl, Vincent Gale, Rukiya Bernard, Trezzo Mahoro and Aleks Paunovic.

The series is produced by Nomadic Pictures. Chad Oakes and Mike Frislev from Nomadic Pictures executive produce along with Evan Tyler of Industry Works and Dave Brown and Zadoc Angell of Echo Lake Entertainment, as well as Daniel March of Dynamic Television. Dynamic Television is also handling the worldwide distribution for the series, excluding first run U.S. television and Canada.

“Having been in the writing room on ‘Van Helsing’ since Season 1 I’m excited to take the reins as showrunner from Neil LaBute,” Walker said. “Season 4 will delve deeper into the iconic lore of the vampires and their ultimate goals for this world. New villains will rise along with unexpected heroes joining the fight. We have a fantastic build planned for this season and I’m thrilled to share it with our dedicated fans.”

The series set in a world dominated and controlled by vampires. Season three continues the story of Vanessa Van Helsing and her band of heroes as they fight to reclaim the world after vampires took over during “The Rising.”

Hey, that's good news! Some of the actors really put in terrific performances. Christopher Heyerdahl and Aleks Paunovic are particularly good, IMHO.

is there a Season 4 premiere date?

That is another show I will need to buy outright. The video quality from FiOS is terrible. And I'm not about to watch any commercials. So it's just a matter of whether I buy the Season from Fandango Now, Amazon, or Vudu. For Syfy shows I typically use Amazon or Fandango Now. And the video quality is a night a day difference from the video quality on FiOS or Comcast.

i just checked the Syfy web site last week and there was no date posted at that time.

Sorry to hear about Fios video quality. I DVR it from Comcast and the quality is fine. Hope you can find a source that is good.

If you are fine with Comcast then you would be ok with FiOS. SInce the FiOS video quality is still a little better than what Comcast has. Comcast converts everything to 720P, plus over compresses.
FiOS has been racing to get to the level that Comcast has.

I see my DVR has scooped up the premier episode of this season. I haven't had time to watch it yet, though. Looking forward to more crazy fun.

This series has taken a lot of twists and turns along the way, which I find fun.
