After last nights episode, I really started debating with myself on whether to continue or not .. I think it was a mistake to write out Congresswoman Kimble Hookstraten, she was a great part of season One, she was the "other Designated Survivor", she had the best zingers and one-liners and she stole every scene she was in .. and I also thought she was one of the more interesting characters ..

I still see no signs of a VP anywhere .. Lloyd's death was wrapped up almost as an afterthought .. Seth's bit was about as unfunny as it can get ..

I guess the good news is, Kirkman seems to be becoming more Jack Bauerish .. and I am curious as to what Lloyd uploaded ..

I was surprised, and happy to see Zoe McLellan join the show. She had to leave her previous show (NCIS:New Orleans) for, what I hear, were personal problems. I've always enjoyed any role she has portrayed.

I remember her as Petty Officer Jennifer Coates on the last few seasons of JAG.

I'm surprised this was renewed. It looks like it may of run it's course.

Talk about being anti-climatic.

The whole episode was dumb. The mother-in-law gets a secret service escort to her house and she asks him to leave. I don't think that would happen in real life. They cut Lloyd's T1 line into his bunker and cutting off communications, yet he can speak to the President online. There was another one and I can't remember what it was. Some really dumb writing taking place on this show.

I would think he had some type of cellular connection. Besides that would be more than fifty times faster than a T1. A T1 is extremely slow at only around 1.5Mb/s.

Oh yeah. The other thing I was thinking of was how easily they found the "back door" to Lloyd's bunker.

Sorry if I missed it but what happened to the ex-President who became Secretary of State last season? He seems to have disappeared.

As far as I can remember, he did, in fact, just disappear .. along with Hookstraten

Agreed.

This show and its concept really should have been a one off or mini series, but not a multi-season thing.

the way this show is going, I could see a storyline where Lloyd has uploaded his consciousnes into the cloud, and will come back as a robot at the end of the season to destroy the White House

it just seems silly how quickly his character was killed off

Fair episode this week. I feel like it's a little all over the place, but that's probably life in the White House.

I don't like the heavy-handed Federal government. But it is ABC and Hollywood and probably another thread on another forum . . .

This season seems a far departure from the show I really liked last season. I am a fan of a continuing story that wraps up at the end of the season. This season, it seems to be pretty much stand alone episodes. I am hoping that another conspiracy emerges soon so we can have a story line.

Seems like it. But the ongoing conspiracy is Lloyd's connection to Kirkman's in-laws. They can milk this for quite a while.

Still no VP.

I just hope it does not turn into another agenda based series. This week was obviously a jab at the pharmaceutical industry. I am looking for a series that is much like the first couple seasons of "24". Good story line, good character development and good acting. Those are things that seem to be missing from most of the current network shows. I find myself turning more and more to Netflix or Prime to try to find some good programming without the political agenda of the networks.

I think they should finish this show right now. Tie up all the storylines. After this episode with a poor mans "Andromeda Strain" or "Contagion," they should try to out do CBS's lousy "Salvation" and have Kirkman and crew battle an asteroid. I mean what's left after that?

At this point, I feel like we are in for the "Crisis of the Week" .. the transplant side story will continue to play out over the season, likely somehow threatening Kirkman's Presidency .. I'm on the fence, viewing wise .. I'll likely stick with a bit longer, but it's a crap shoot right now ..

I found myself fast forwarding through some of this last episode. I find the political stuff boring. The FBI agent stuff holds my interest way more. Sad, I loved season 1, not sure I will be able to watch much more of this season if things don't improve.

I can't remember the last time a show neutrered it's premise so much that the existence of the show is rendered pointless.

Designated survivor becomes president. Nothing really changes. The end.

LOL

This show is following the current trend in shows that gets old pretty quickly - one storyline per episode with 1 or 2 story arcs that drag along for episodes if not the whole season.
