Some interesting twists last night. But I have a feeling I know where some of these storylines are going.

I bet I'm not alone thinking something bad was about to happen to her when Maggie Q and her FBI boss went into the park. We don't know how deep the conspiracy goes. For now he looks like he is a straight shooter.

I wish they wouldn't of killed off the commander. For the very brief time they showed him I already liked the character and commented to my wife I hope they keep him around for a while. Bummer.

Yeah, the FBI boss seemed correct in warning about not telling others what Maggie discovered about room 105 and the 'accidental' deaths of the eight builders. Even telling the president seems hazardous since he brought the co-conspirator chief of staff onto his team and seems to be readying the sole surviving congress person as vice president--seemingly the main plot for everything. Time for a chat in the Rose garden to avoid a bugged oval office. -- John

I had originally thought the FBI boss was part of the conspiracy but he seemed genuinely surprised when Hannah (Maggie Q) told him that room 105 was actually a bunker and all the contractors who built the bunker were dead.

Although it's a bit of a slow build for the conspiracy part I think the show is pretty good. And did we hear a "dammit" out of Jack, er, I mean, Kirkman?

It is a shame the FBI hasn't briefed the president yet on their suspicions before he goes and hires their number one suspect as the VP.

Why does he did a VP anyway. There is no Senate, House to speak of, or Supreme Court. No duties for the VP to do except be next in line when the conspiracy moves to kill Kirkland so their mole can take power.

Yeah it was a bummer. The scene with the president at the coffin was moving, and the line delivered by the navy seal that his team had not questioned the president's decision to send them into the hospital, so he, the president, should not second guess himself was a thought piece. I like the action and the suspense; I'm glad that is not all the program is about.

I'm inclined to think that they are a good thing, if done to get the scripts right, or the post-production, or the final edit. Like Alan said, this is more than an action series, and they should take the time to get it right.

Because he is looking to rebuild all that and is looking for various key members to be in place when it happens. Plus, the VP could help him do various tasks, etc. since they are limited with people in his inner circle.

The show is in the can .. it's "other TV" that is preempting episodes ..

I still have my doubts about "Muslim Terrorists" being behind this whole ordeal. But that's more because I doubt ABC/ESPN/DISNEY being willing to do that

You're right. Given those facts (ABC/ESPN/DISNEY), it'll probably come down to 'white privilege' being the root cause.

Considering "Room 105" .. in and of itself, would make me tend to say it's all an inside job ..

^^^Not sure of the number but recall that very busy, secret office. Also, the concentration camps being built in Braindead brought to mind an actual political speech I watched last year. Can't say, following forum policy, anything about whose campaign it was. But this middle-aged, plumpish dude actually said that camps could be built to solve certain problems. Suspect his speech could be found on UTube, etc. -- John

That was a fun show and I am sorry it is over.

But at least in Designated Survivor we don't have bugs getting into the politicians' heads and controlling them. (On second thought ... do you suppose that might be an improvement? )

I thought Wednesday's show was the slowest and weakest one so far. A lot of the focus was just on one storyline.

Sure, because it's not as if there have been decades of movies and TV fighting Muslim terrorists. Like True Lies, Syriana, The Kingdom, Executive Decision, Body of Lies, Unthinkable, The Agency, 24, Alias etc. etc.

Having an internal conspiracy is only slightly less of a cliche at this point, but what do you want? Make the obvious first suspects the actual villains and have the mystery solved in six episodes?

At this point there are almost no solutions to a terrorist conspiracy plot that are original. Russia, North Korea, Eastern Europe, Africa, Ireland ... storylines have used nearly every country with a terrorist group background at some point.

Maybe this show will use ETA, FARC or LTTE for some new angle. Though FARC might be a bad choice to run with if that's their end game.

I can't disagree .. although the "Governors Gathering" was likely realistic, at least based on the very improbable premise of the show in general ..

Going forward, I am going to have to suspend belief more and more, given Kirkman and FLOTUS stance on refugees and what is likely to transpire in a couple of months.
