After I finished rewatching Season 1 on Epix streaming, I started Episode 1 of Season 2 and was a bit underwhelmed. As much as I like these characters, I thought that Season 1 was a nearly perfect 10 episodes that could have stood as a one off. I will stick with Season 2 nonetheless because I think the showrunner, writers, and wonderful ensemble cast deserve my continuing time and attention.

What a difference a year makes especially an election one does. I see show after show how Hollywood just can't deal with reality and show their lack of true diversity [no not skin color]. But I think this show this season might just takes the cake after all. Not a smart call for a fledgling new streaming channel's original show. I wonder if the writers were consulted by the SPLC for brain dead ideas. Time will tell,I guess

Watch Paul Ryhs, an otherwise excellent actor, try to mimic an American accent in his performance as Aldrich Ames in The Assets. It was painfully bad.

Your post left me with the impression that you failed to read, or at least comprehend,

Let me, less vauge..

Shows get on my list to watch:

1) ACTORS... I guess I need to be totally clear. FEMALE ACTORS.

HOT FEMALE ACTORS. Period.

2) Potential for those in #1 to be nude

99) Plot, story, etc..

Hopefully that clears it up..

The names you are giving me, don't ring bells. Because they likely are NOT FEMALE.

Nope.

Read... it... I don't notice the accents.. end of story. Its not something I worry about...

Something I will notice is that if you pick two agencies, and put them in a show cough GLADES cough. Then you start with mix and matching of some things related to these agencies... Well let me tell you right now, the two agencies depicted in that show do NOT WORK THAT WAY! Period. Additionally, there is a pretty good chance that the officers from the two would shoot each other.

Same with things related to radio use in a show... If you are depicting a show in x and then start showing radio use that is inconsistent with the radio system in that area.. I will flip out... Simple little things like the background chatter for the radios. to when they key up and you have a 5/6 tone ANI burst... for x... NOPE! That is stuff I notice.. Same with all these "CSI" labs... If the public were to see the ACTUAL "CSI" labs in 99.9999% of agencies, their jaws would drop... I can deal with a little dramatic license, but these shows go beyond that , and most against their own consultants who are telling them that "it don't work that way."

I am not into artsy farsty stuff.. I don't care that much about all the technical stuff that they used f.28 400 inch lens on panaduper camera... Blah balh blah... I tuned out..

Plain and simple you put Kate Winslet in a movie I will likely watch it at some point. Same with a long list of actors.. There is stuff I've had to seek out because much of this stuff is for foreign actors in languages I don't understand. Its really too bad that some of this doesn't get some decent releases outside the source country.

Notice: I no longer provide assistance in re OTA antenna and RF related queries.

Clearly it was the third episode last night entirely from Spain, not the second as I mentioned earlier that my FIOS guide outlined. Frequent mention of current right-wing German politics, with the plot centered around a terrorist attempt to buy explosives. A stabbing, shooting, and fast-car chases in this one, ending in a cooked nasty dude. He needed better driving lessons. -- John

I am pretty sure that the episode you described, which was set in Spain and had car chases, is Episode 2 of the new season. To double check, I checked what is available both from cable and from the Epix streaming service. Both show only the first two episodes available. Episode 3 is not scheduled to be run on cable until next Sunday, 10/22.

Let me add that I loved the first two episodes and was glad to see Hector come back into the picture. Rhys Ifans, who plays Hector, can be relied on to elevate everything he is in. Ifans as the burned out, alcoholic Hector has been a lot of fun to watch.

I couldn't agree more on Hector - - if anything, he'll save Season 2. It will be pretty hard to live up to Season 1 of Berlin Station. That was one of the best written series I've seen from character development to plot line with many surprises. I mean - - you were on "high alert" with every week's show that had incredible suspense, week after week. It was riveting and you had to follow closely to put all the pieces together.

What happened - did the thread die?

Now that Season 2 has ended I can't wait for the 3rd. Anyone know if it has been renewed? The Haines plotline is SO promising I'd be devastated if it's canceled.

I started on Homeland S6 yesterday which gave me a big "Meh" feeling compared to Berlin Station...

Aww, I had a senior moment

Maybe S2 is a little weaker than S1 but certainly better than "a faint shadow"

The plot is a bit weaker, but it's still more engaging than the last 5 seasons of "24". There's also the US sort of being the bad guy angle that probably rubs a lot of people the wrong way.

I'm not sure I agree with that at all. My interpretation is that it portrays the intelligence agencies trying to cope with a world where the enemies are no longer the classic bad guys and can be found all around you, not the least among those supposed to be allies.

It also does not paint a particularly flattering picture of the do-gooder media folks, who many times are so "afraid of Americans" that they fail to see where the real threats come from.

The choice of title song is a clear indication that one needs to look deeper before making the "the-US-is-the-bad-guy" interpretation.

Lots of action to finish the season. The station convinced Hector to turn himself in, even though he'd videoed someone shooting the extremist woman politican before he could. Then a fake assassination and burial, ending with Hector sailing off on a freighter. In between, some zippy chase scenes revealing the German police played a naughty role. -- John

I don't get EPIX on Comcast, but it's slated to be added in early 2018. I am hoping that existing episodes of Berlin Station will be in their On Demand section. Fingers crossed.

It looks like you'll need an X1 STB to view it.

EPIX Reaches Long-term Distribution Agreement with Comcast to Provide EPIX Programming Across XFINITY TV, On-demand and Digital Platforms

Sounds like it will be IP delivery like they do with their MLB-EI package. I think they do the NHL package that way as well. Legacy STBs, TiVos and/or CableCARD devices need not apply.

Couldn't agree more! I think Berlin Station is one of the best dramas on TV these days. I ended up liking Season 2 even more than Season 1, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The writers have given us multifaceted characters worthy of John Le Carre. I have particularly enjoyed Mina Tander as Esther Krug and Heino Ferch as Josef Emmerich. I still can't figure out what the real agenda of either is and that's a good thing. Those two just scratch the surface, though. The Americans are almost equally intriguing. Can't wait for Season 3!

Russia's shipping troops into Estonia on a unmarked 'secret' train, warning of a covert take-over. (Shades of Eastern Ukraine more recently.) Lots of action in the first episodes of the new season. This Sunday an overly-macho agent, who tied and beat a Russian last week, was dosed with gasoline and burned to light up the long-shot closing scene. He'd failed to stop a Russian from shooting into a crowd of Estonians. Oh my, it's enough to discourage WTA champions. -- John

yeah the show just wants to piggyback on real events [except for the season 2]and put a twist on them. Still a tangible TDS, but what else is new.

Exactly. Even the "little green men" references were right out of the actual Russian "incursion" into Ukraine. World events are practically writing the show's plots by themselves. I know that many didn't care for last season's story line but I did. Its depiction of the revival of nationalism in German politics reflected the realities of current European politics with xenophobic right wing governments now in power in some countries and political parties of that persuasion rapidly making gains in others.

Ok, I waited to binge this and HOLY COW!!!!

I never binge a show like this. I watched two episodes a day. For me, it was that good. I kind of thought I knew who Diver was and I was right. The real story was how they were going to play it. I never thought they would kill off Daniel, but they did. I am curious if they knew if they were going to get renewed or not.

I also liked how they played the is she or isn't she a spy with Robert going paranoid.

There were obvious nitpicks, but I can overlook them.
