I bit.

IndyCars are ass-ugly, but I figure if I was going to have a Hot Wheels sized IndyCar in my collection, it may as well be Fred's.

Thanks to @BGLeduc for the heads up about the weird program guide info listing for the live qualifying coverage of the Spanish GP. As others have noted, my guide called it "Pre Qualifying" and had not picked it up to record. Thanks again for the warning, which allowed me to schedule the live telecast of qualifying to record.

Alonso will be racing elsewhere next year. The situation with Honda (in F1) is hopeless.

LOL and then he goes out with 7th in qualifying.

I fear this race may be like the last with Merc and Ferrari up front. RB could be on an island and then the rest of pack possibly being lapped.

If he wins the start and is ahead after the shuffling around on the first lap he will win.

On this track, with the new car configurations, on-track passes for position will be almost non-existent.

Of course, accidents and safety cars could change things.

Don't forget pit stop strategy which is the only other way to pass these days. The racing now is a joke and we all know it but still watch it why?

The main straight on this track is actually a good place to make passes. Unfortunately the Ferrari's worst sector is the third sector, just before the straight. The red cars need a really good start here.

Vettel did a big mistake in the third sector, he also apologized to the team for his mistake. I don't think he will repeat it again.

Was it a bad strategy by Ferrari or a good strategy by the Mercedes?

Mercedes strategy of having Bottas commit Finn on Finn crimes and then go on to become tailgunner was obviously the best strategy.

But finding that crying kid and his Mom, and having Kimi hang out with them was the winning strategy for F1 today.

Good race today in Montmelo. I give credit to Liberty Media for changing a "few" things around to INVOLVE the fans more. That example by Kimi and the young child makes a big impact. That little boy was upset for sure. I can hear it now from other kids, "Dad I want to go to a race now". We all know that it isn't cheap to attend a weekend F1 race. Perhaps they are finally learning from the other "racing groups" that have been doing this and more for some time on how to make fans a little more involved and happier on race weekends! See Bernie it isn't that hard to do, you just need to involve those who pay to attend and not be such an elitist.

Not a bad race. It was nice to see some fighting for the lead. It did play out like I said previously. I think for a lap or two Sergio was somewhat near Ric, but it didn't last.

There was some mid field racing that wasn't bad. Sainz and Mag will probably not be hanging out anytime soon.

Sauber scored some points with Pascal and his impressive drive. McLaren is now the only team not to score a point.

While Bottas helped (and isn't that what a team mate is supposed to do), Vettel admitted that he couldn't hold Ham off. Vettel told Ric that traffic helped him keep the lead as long as he did.

As for Bottas and Kimi, maybe Kimi shouldn't have tried the move that he did. Bottas wheel was over the curb. Not sure how much further he could have went. Oh wait maybe you think he should have braked and let Kimi through.

If you want to blame someone other than Kimi, then look at Max. He gave no room around the outside.

What happened to Alonso? Great qualifying and then he went backwards for the race. Maybe Honda has a special qualifying mode for the engine that they don't think can be maintained for a whole race.

He got squeezed off track at the start and was never able to make up for the lost positions.

I thought at the time Ferrari brought Vettel in for his first stop and they put soft on again it was a mistake, and i stand by that. I think they should have put the harder tire on, then gotten him back on soft for the end of the race.

I didnt think they would be able to win with a 3-stop strategy, and i wanted him on soft at the end instead of the harder tires he was on.

never take life seriously
