We enjoyed last season, but my wife and I watched the first episode of the new season and we both fell asleep! Slow slow slow. Something is missing relative to last year.

Same here. I managed to finish 2 episodes but it seemed like a chore.

I watched the trailer the day season 3 dropped, thinking The Crown might "jump the line" in my extremely backlogged queue. But even the trailer (which supposedly compiles two minutes of the most compelling moments from the season) made s.3 look like a snooze-fest.

The 1st two episodes where boring, but then things picked up. Not the first two seasons thou. of course the wait between what these series call "seasons" is half the problem. Then there is the number of episodes that they are calling a "season'.

Recording free OTA TV for 'time shifting' has been here since 1975. Will there be DVR's to do the same when ATSC3 obsoletes existing DVR's??

To each it's own, but naturally the show seems a little "slower" since the main characters are in their mid 40s and the kids are not exactly much of a "rebels" either. The show is also even more character driven VS.story, and some of the secondary characters like those bland PMs were not so interesting compared to Churchill, which can also reduce the dynamism of the show. The later might be fixed with the arrival of M. Thatcher. It seems Gillian Anderson was tapped to play her , and I'm not sure she's the right choice, but she's proved me wrong before when I underestimated her talent [The Fall].

Too bad Anna Torv couldn't be picked to fit in somewhere. I was never impressed with Anderson even in the over rated X Files..

Loving Season 3. Was POed that Foy was not returning but I was won over immediately by the "new" Queen. Good cast. Good writing.
I thought Episode 2 was fantastic. Sad, tragic insight into Margaret's character and frustration starting as a pre-teen.
Then Episode 3 about the avalanche in Wales was also very moving. The Queen (the REAL one) has said that her biggest regret was her lack of immediate personal response.
