Has anyone read the script from the NFL offices? Will this be a close game with NE winning on an INT or a heroic come from behind? I think the NFL is going to go with a close game in the first half and a blowout win in the second. NE hasn't set a record for largest point margin in the SB yet.

NE - 52
Ph - 17

They're in a strange situation.

All three QB's are up for free agency. They've spent three #1 picks in trying to get their QB - #1 's for Teddy Bridgewater, Christian Ponder (now with SF) and traded a #1 for Bradford. Keenum was added as a backup to Bridgewater, whose injuries are documented.

Keenum performed well for them, but any reference to him usually has the word Journeyman preceding his name. Bradford hasn't caught fire and Bridgewater, probably the most talented of the three is recuperating and a work in progress still.

Their 13-3 season was the result of their defense, in my opinion, so their management has to consider what could happen with a very good QB. Is Bridgewater that, or could an expensive free agent do the job?

I think they do need a new QB, with many questions about Bridgewater.

You may be correct. I can't see Bradford being brought back. Has there ever been a QB paid so much for so little? Ironically he will still think he is entitled to $20 mill a year.

With $56 mill to spend, the Vikes could sign Cousins and then bring Teddy back on a one year deal. Of course, could Cousins succeed outside of a WCO?

The girlfriend Ilene told me I'm in the dog house, why because Ethyl bet a bundle on the Pats and found out from here I like the Eagles to win big.

Didn't know they were spying on me.

But I told her that Ethyl's got a chance just like Andy did in this match.

Told her a body slam here and a slam there you got it.

She said I just might pull this SB out. I predicated there sending Tommie out in style with a little help from his friends.

That Ethyl just might be a genius.

I'm not seeing how Cousins would be any better than Keenum, so why take a chance? Go with what you know - keep Bridgewater and Keenum, see what happens next year. I can't see Teddy getting big bucks.

For what it's worth, I've created our annual set of Super Bowl discussion threads and posted them in the Sticky Threads area.

Pregame thread and the commercials thread are open.

The game thread and halftime thread should open a little before kickoff. If they don't, please use the report post function to alert a hopefully more-sober moderator

Not saying that he would be, I think he's benefited greatly from being behind the Washington line. Cousins will be expensive and may not be better than Keenum. But they have three free agents, and some have to go - maybe all.

The question is - having come so close to the Super Bowl, do you take the hit and gamble on a draft pick and Bridgewater and maybe lose the window of opportunity with the defense (see Denver) or do you take a known factor (Cousins) and maybe upgrade the receiving corps / tight ends, with the possibility that he nosedives.

I may be wrong, but I don't think you can afford both Cousins and Keenum.

Not to open any sore wounds , but I would pick Kaepernick at low money here. Just as a business move.

Hydraulic fluid. I have to wonder if anyone bothered to consider if there would be any environmental impact to using it instead of the Crisco.
