Great episode, love how they handle the philosophical questions we face. Mainly the struggle to maintain principles when it comes to allies.

Listening with Focal Elex headphones, Topping DSD Dac, SENCUN-audio tube preamp with tone control and Modded Little Dot hybrid tube amp with Voshkod 6ZH1P-EV tubes, Dual Discrete Op-Amp SS3602, and Alps Blue Velvet volume pot.

Watching in a room ensconced in velvet.

Thought the episode was ok but a little to predictable. I didn't like how the women didn't leave the planet. Going to the senate wasn't a either or situation. There was no reason to risk staying on the planet. Everything was so paint by numbers. No twist or surprises.

I'm guessing there will be a divorce episode in the near future for Bortus. They already explained what that details and will probably callback to it. They sure do love doing Bortus episodes.

I know this episode was a bit predictable towards the end. But, I do think this was the best episode this year. The Bortus-focused episodes are definitely the better ones. I have a feeling with all the focus on Moclus, something big will come to a head. Such a shame they do so little with the Xaleyans. Moreover, I wouldn't mind another "Kelly" episode though.

Loved seeing Number One directing. Make it so. The VFX budget was upped. The Nebula looked great. Begging for some HDR love. Dolly Parton playing over the shootout on the planet was classic.

I told my wife during the episode, 'Bortus needs to stab Klyden." She responded, "He needs to divorce him." to which I replied, "That's what I said."

Why isn't Klyden more understanding and supportive? After all, wasn't he born a female and had to undergo the 'corrective procedure'?

I know it's stretching it. My theory, the union use planets like we use cell towers on earth. Not all the planets will carry the building blocks of life, of life itself. Just a SWAG. :

It's not that it was predictable, it's that the writers are intent on cramming their social order ideas down our throats almost every week. The whole season seems like a rant against intolerance, and it's way past old.

That's because they are intolerant against intolerance.

At one point every politically correct show had to show strong black and female characters. Later every show had to show intermarriage between blacks and whites. Then every show had to show gays in a positive light. Then it was all about bullying - which mostly turned out to be a code word for picking on those groups - especially gays. Now every politically correct show has to have trans characters. Though Orville is an outlier - people on Moclan are forced to be trans, so Orville is treating the choice NOT to be trans as the civil right, rather than the politically correct theme of making the choice TO be trans.

It does get a bit repetitive.

It does seem as though making AIs the ultimate bad guys on both Orville and Discovery is counter to this trend. Surely the next big politically correct thing could showing that AIs are the good guys. Though maybe we will see or the equivalent of medical marijuana as the next politically correct issue.

I'd like to see each show doing something more original.

It almost seems they are making the Moclans into "Reverse Kligons" , In Trek, The Klingons went from Adversaries to eventually Non-adversaries , The Moclans seem to be taking the opposite direction ...

Looks like you just got what you wanted! They should have called it "Kelly Squared." It was kinda cool seeing how they "de-aged" Adrienne so she could play her several years younger self.

As soon as past Kelly said she was going to invite Bortus to the sim, you knew something good would happen. That did not disappoint.

So, that ending, did that mean that the mind wipe didn't work? If so, the show now should not exist.
The only reason Ed became Captain is because Kelly went to Admiral Halsey and asked him for a favor. If they never actually get together, then it would make no sense for her to influence this path.

The ending could mean a new universe was created or the current universe was changed and we haven't seen the changes yet.

Considering they didn't actually show scenes for the finale, only past clips, I could see this happening.

IMO, the only path is Kelly is now a Captain, but because she knows how things originally panned out, it keeps eating at her. She eventually finds a way to go back and set in motion the way things were supposed to be.

This show (again) took a plot that in the beginning I thought would be dumb and turned it into a great story. The writers on this series are excellent.

And that ending........whoa!

Seven years younger Kelly looked a lot hotter than current age Kelly. Mostly due to her hair style.

The favor was needed because he was still suffering from divorce fallout. No marriage, no fallout. He could still be a captain on his original merit.
