Condor on Audience Network

Just watched the first episode and this is worth a watch. I knew it was a remake of the Three Days of the Condor, and wanted to see how it would be updated. First scene has Brendan Fraser digging a hole in the desert and I was hooked. And the cast, what a cast! William Hurt, I'll watch anything with William Hurt, Mira Sorvino, and Max Irons plays the analyst Redford played in the original.

Yeah, I'm really looking forward to see how things develop. First episode grabbed me, and I'm in for the ride.

It's too bad most don't have access to the Audience Network

Although DirecTVNOW seems to have been pretty successful recently with increasing share of the streaming market.

Really enjoying this show so far! The lead, Max Irons who reminds me of young Robert Redford, and Katherine Cunningham, who plays the character Faye Dunaway played in the movie, have likable chemistry.

Looks like this is one of the good shows no one is watching. They keep ratcheting up the suspense each week. I guess I'm getting spoiled with NF and such, I want to binge this show.

Technical issue -- We're watching this show on channel 239, the HD DTV "Audience" channel. We're only two episodes in right now, the rest saved on our Genie DVR. We've set up a series recording on that channel but the Genie box keeps changing our recording of this show to the 4k channel. Since we don't have a 4k TV, the recording shows up in our recordings list with a red slashed circle. Clicking on it takes us to the DTV 4k splash screen asking up to upgrade our service to 4k for the 4k television we don't have.

The first time this happened, I noticed that the series recording for 'Condor' had gone away, as well as that week's episode being switched to channel 104 (the 4k channel). I was able to find another showing of that week's episode on the HD channel 239, set up a manual recording for it, and re-set the series recording. But the same thing keeps happening every week, and unfortunately, it's too late now to find another HD recording for last week's ep (ep 5) since ep 6 debuts tonight. I called DTV tech support and you can imagine how well that call went. They want to send a tech out but I'm pretty sure this is a software bug and not related to our Genie box. That's what it "feels" like.

My question: Is anyone here trying to watch this show on channel 239 on an HDTV? Have you had a similar problem? Thanks.

As someone who has only seen the first two eps (see my post above), which are presumably just setting the stage for the action to come, I can say it is definitely... interesting. Don't go in expecting something as brilliant as AMC's late, great 'Rubicon' though. This ain't remotely that.

(I think you mean 71.) That's apparently also an HD channel, like 239. I set up my series pass on 239. I don't normally have 71 as one of my "favorite channels" (so I don't normally see it), but when I went there just now to check, sure enough, 'Condor' is set to record on that channel tonight as well as 239. DTV has their proprietary "audience" channel mirrored all over the place. Maybe that's part of the problem...?

We'll see what happens tonight, whether I get it recorded in HD, which I can watch, or 4k, which I can't.

Man, the twist in this episode is heartbreaking!

Just saw the preview of the Mr Mercedes Season 2 at the end of this episode. For those unfamiliar, Mr Mercedes is based on Stephen King novel, and is another underappreciated gem on Audience Network. Season 1 was incredible and the new season looks like another winner.

I am 3 episodes in now after just seeing this thread recently. Very much enjoying this. Good summer viewing so far. Thanks as always to the folks who pointed this out.

I see that no one has noticed the error in the shooting sequence. The shots were fired at a car that went from right to left, meaning that the shots were at the driver side. Yet, the passenger was shot in her right side. Therefore the car should have been going left to right. Big OOPS!

Otherwise, I too am enjoying this show.

I don't have the stills, but I saw him driving up the street, not down the street. That would put the passenger in the immediate line of fire.

Not sure where you came up with this but the car was moving left to right.

I am caught up now. I saw Rubicon and liked it. I have to say I am liking this as much if not more. It's very very entertaining (especially for a slow summer season). Rubicon was really good, but more cerebral I think. This so far is more engaging for me. The performances are convincing and almost great. I honestly really like it so far.

Thanks to all who recommended this!

I pulled the video to recheck. For some reason I saw the car going the other way. Rechecking verified that it indeed went left to right.

So much for credibility of eye-witness reports.

Seriously, it's so easy getting fooled by memories.

She is still one hell of a shot! She would have never been a Stormtrooper.

I was thinking maybe someone rang the bell and you caught the scene reflected on the window by the door

That is bad new as far as I'm concerned. I want a full and final ending to this story, have no desire to be left hanging for almost a year.

That's not necessarily true. I don't think the showrunners created this season with a cliffhanger not knowing they'll be picked up for another season.

Ok they wrapped it up well, with a few twists I did not see coming. Extremely happy they did not leave big things hanging until next year.

Wrapped it up a little too neatly for my taste. But this show is brutal, I'm surprised there're still characters left for a new season

There was a "major" flaw in the last episode.
The car with Joubert and Joe crashed heavily, flipped a few times through the air, crashed upside down and then rolled over. When Joe left the car and they were showing Joubert sitting in the rear, her hair was still styled, looking like she was just placed into the seat (which she (the actress) was).

But after such an accident, any long hair would have been all over the place.
I know, it's not actually a major flaw. But I noticed it right away when they were showing Joubert waking up, sitting in the car and looking like nothing happened.

There were all types of continuity issues with that particular scene. If she wasn't belted in she would have been easily ejected. No fractures on either party, and no head injuries either because the airbags never deployed. It's Hollywood so what else would you expect?
