Pretty sure that would be da Shat

Agreed that the civilian clothes looked out of character, but they were supposed to be on holiday/leave from duty.
(Maybe we were expecting "futuristic" camping cothes?)

I assume SHatner was going for TOS like humor with the campfire banter and row your boat routine, but agreed, just felt awkward.

Not without precedent- Pike at picnic wearing jeans in Cage/MEnagerie (though an "Illusion"), KIrk/Spock wearing civilian clothes in City on the Edge, Assignment Earth, etc.
