Ouch. Alonso hit pretty hard at Indy. Nasty little thwack on that inside wall.

Yeah, it was good to see him looking fine and talking to the reporter afterwards. He went from wall to wall. Gotta keep him healthy, I want him back in F1.

I believe that was a very good lesson for Alonso not to be exactly behind the front guy when you are on the limit and as long this huppen in practise and he is unhurt then its fine.
He is smart and he can only gain from this

I had the Formula E race from Monaco on my dvr, tried to watch it yesterday. I love to watch racing from Monaco for the track and the overall setting, so was looking forward to this even tho its F-E cars. But I didnt know they modified the course. They took out the hairpin and the tunnel, two things I totally love at Monaco. I got so upset I just turned it off and deleted it!!!

Good grief. Hope you've calmed down from your little tantrum and since undeleted it, because it was a great race. Follow your own advice from your sig perhaps?

Each time they go to Monaco they run the shorter track. This was not a new thing. I'd prefer they didn't, but that's the way it is. From what I have read, it's Formula 1 that won't let formula E run the whole track.

Actually, I thought it was wall to wall to wall; a triple thwack. I hope he's able to qualify. Indy, being what it is, simply having a reliable, competitive drive in the race gives one a fighting chance. I miss Alonzo in F1 this year. I bet he misses it too. This season thus far has been nothing but a stinkpot of a bore.

Don't you just wish HDMI would crawl off to some darkened corner and die a sad, lonely death?

It is their own fault. I am glad that Kyle Kaiser made the field. I would have preferred O'Ward to Chilton as well. Of course, I would have preferred Alonso over Hinch, but oh well.

It should be noted that Hinch struggled to make the race, while his rookie team mate was comfortably in. I will be curious if Arrow dumps Marcus or Hinch or moves to three cars when Wickens returns next year.

Bumped by a tiny team who scrambled to build a second car overnight after a huge crash 2 days after Alonso's crash. McLaren not getting Alonso on track on Thursday was inexcusable.

My mistake. Both Chilton and O'Ward didn't make it. Karam made it. I thought I read where Chilton made it.

Now that Alonso is out, is his contract with McLaren done? I wonder if he wants to stick around with the team or move on.

The rumor was McLaren was trying to buy an Indycar team. I guess no one was interested. Maybe they should persuade Alonso to do the oval races this year to get the team up to speed for next year (if there is one).

Another curious question is why did McLaren hook up with Carlin and not someone like ECR? All three of the ECR cars are in the top nine and Ed has always been strong at Indy.

Too much fun to have tantrums, not calmed down. I dont care if F1 wouldnt let them run the whole track, that doesnt mean i have to like it. I am not into the electric cars, just wanted to see them on this track, and for me i hated missing parts of the track that i really love.

I agree. If he had signed up with ECR, then he would be in the race.

It looks like McLaren Indy may be starting to crumble.

Interesting that Alonso always seems to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
McLaren's F1 results seem to be getting better and IndyCar is failing.
McLaren is in 4th place in the constructors' standings.

So you are saying being age 70 is young? I'm not understanding your post. So what's old, 105? I'm so glad I was able to see him race at the Long Beach Grand Prix in the early 80's! He was a true champion to come back after being burned. If any of you posting on here have ever experienced severe burns you know from experience it is the most painful feeling ever. Morphine helps a little but the pain is always there.

These days, 70 is well below average lifespan. I think, his accident probably shortened his life. What nearly killed him was smoke inhalation I think, not the burns, and he needed a lung transplant last year. So in the end, that's another F1 fatality.
