There have been people who have quit on their own before (too cold, too wet, ostracized by the entire tribe, etc.) If someone is at the end of their rope and wound up being voted out, they could decide to just call it quits.

I'm fairly certain that those that go to Extinction Island will be whittled down to 2 that return to the game .. I would guess that will be done thru attrition (especially those that got Extinction early on) and one massive Challenge just prior to the 2 returning to the Game ..

The thing about Extinction Island is, it's got to be really boring .. no need for Game Play ..

Having to climb to get a tiny rice ration is a real downer as well .. they will have to do it every day ..

Sadly, because of Extinction Island, I just feel like no one has been voted out ..

True, but very few and far between. I think more have left from injury than voluntarily quitting. I agree with MKDragon that, as it stands now, no one is really voted out. But, they may well quit once there if extinction island turns out to be just a bleak, boring existence to test your stamina.

It might be interesting to see how they divide up the rice each day as more people show up.

Or it might not be if they get another portion of rice for each person added.

That would be a good way to get everyone to take the climb instead of one person for the group. They should require each person to climb to get their portion of rice!

I'm sure the rice ration will be increased with each new Extinction Person .. also, I would not be surprised if the Rule was, you have to make the climb in order to actually eat your portion ..

Extinction Island, I don't think, is going to be a Cakewalk .. I'm sure the Producers want people to quit .. it makes for great TV .. once the first one makes an exit, we'll all be guessing on who's next ..

Survivor's been past its due date for a while, thinkin' it started with All-Star Survivors...though Jonny Fairplay (now 45) had his moments.

Bug and assorted appetizers still off the menu? And IIRC someone was peed on after a stingray attacked.

So I'm actually a vegetarian, but if Wendy lets those chickens escape, she has got to go! She's a friggin whacko. I'm honestly surprised David believed her so easily when she said she didn't take the flint. Not sure if he may be deflecting for her for some reason, but she has to be the prime suspect. I was just thrown off by how matter of fact-ly he stated, "She didn't take it. It wasn't her." Like, uh, how do you know?

The season has kept my interest so far, but hopefully they can execute the edge of extinction twist well enough to make it a good addition and not a disaster.

be on at 8pm tonight ,but instead they are showing collage basketball........

like that........

That is probably up to that local station to decide/do, not CBS, I doubt your local NC station is owned and operated by CBS, such as WCBS Ch 2 here in in NYC, or KCBS ch2 in LA is ...

They need to figure a better way to mix these tribe up when they do this. Perhaps having every other person pick from a different tray or something. It always seems like it ends up with a tribe of originals and one or two new ones that just get voted off anyway.

Yes they do. We didn't even realize that the season had started.. ended up watching the first 3 episodes online last night.
Did "Come on in guys!" go away? Or did I just miss hearing it? It's a little more difficult to jump back a few seconds to replay when watching online, but I sure don't recall hearing that famous line..

To anyone interested in a Google Chromebox or Chromebook..
Be aware that these boxes run a variant of Linux and DO NOT support HDCP!!!
This means no support for HD on most streaming services. I wish I would have known this beforehand....

You just missed hearing it. Can pretty much count on that along with "up for grabs," "wanna know what you're playing for?" "It IS.. time to vote" "I'll go tally the votes" "THAT's how you play Survivor" and probably some I've missed.

As well, "if anyone has an immunity idol, now's the time to play it." "Grab your torch and get fire." "The tribe has spoken" "This is an immunity idol..."

I haven't been keeping track of the numbers, but they still have the folks on the edge to deal with. Maybe we get that and a merge tonight.

Perhaps with this new edge of extinction, we'll get two shows for the price of one providing double the entertainment for us hamsters; The regular game play and the edge gameplay. I like this new edge of extinction twist. If your favorite player gets voted out, all is not lost. Hopefully we'll see how the edge gets exploited to outwit, outlast, and outplay eventually coming to a finale of some sort from both camps. Not sure how challenges or counsels could be factors for edge contestants if that's only reserved for regular game players though? Maybe we'll find out tonight? Looking forward to it...

Wendy may have the best attitude of anyone ever on the show, always happy and smiling, even after being a complete kook at times.

I can't say I'm unhappy about Wendy getting the axe ..

Joe is just flat out killing it .. with a full merge pending, I hope he can continue on with Individual Immunity, because, if not, he's going to have to kiss some butts to stick around or find an Idol or three .. I'd like to see Joe for the win but the days of other players saying "I want to sit at the end with the Best" I think are long gone .. that's changed to "I want to sit at the end with the worst .."

The preview tease on the Extinction crew walking in was a surprise to me .. I think I heard one of the players still in the game say "Oh, hell no .." ..

When Aubry was sitting at Tribal, I kept thinking .. just play the Idol .. I don't know if the extra Vote would have helped her any .. at any rate, she goes out with both still in hand .. that was a true Blindside ..

LOL, you nailed that. He's tough to figure out. He looks to be in great shape, and athletic, but it clearly only goes skin deep.

I can't believe she left with an idol AND an advantage. When will they ever learn. You play it, another one is put in play, run out and try to find it too. Time and again they keep not using them when they should.

I think War Dog didn’t wear his helmet enough during his time in the military. He was commenting that David is like a third girl but his manly man self hasn’t been helping them out on the challenges. Lauren performs better at the challenges than he does even though she keeps complaining that she’s wasting away.

It’s a risky strategy, but I wonder if Joe should fake an injury so people don’t feel so threatened by him. Once they merge, if he can take the spotlight off himself, maybe he can make it far enough and then turn it on to make it to the finals. Maybe find an idol along the way. Does he have one right now? I don’t remember.
