Snap hook for Woods on 5? I didn't see the tee shot. Hope no spectators were hurt.

Not Spieth's finest moment.

"Jordan Spieth is getting hammered on Twitter for calling out his caddie"

Quote:
Spieth was at even par when his tee shot on the par-4 eighth rolled — and rolled — down the fairway until it ran out of grass, tumbled over the cliff and down to the rocks below. After a penalty drop, he sent his third shot flying over the green into deep rough, the worst place to miss. He muttered to himself, “Two perfect shots.” He then said to caddie Michael Greller, “Two perfect shots, Michael. You got me in the water on one and over the green on the other.”

Good thing they're such good friends or that could have gotten ugly.

I'm starting to dislike Spieth...he doesn't seem to handle adversity well...he used to be such a classy guy when he was winning but now when he's struggling his attitude has also gone downhill

"U.S. Open 2019: Jordan Spieth says on-air exchange with caddie was frustration, not blame"

Quote:
Asked about the exchange after the round, in which he recovered to shoot one-over 72, Spieth clarified player and caddie had agreed on club selection, and his remarks were made in exasperation.
“I may have looked like the bad guy, but my intentions were that we should be in play if the ball is hit solidly.”
https://www.golfdigest.com/story/us-...tion-not-blame
He's still not owning it. Bad.

Things looked cool on the practice range this morn. Cooler than the Monterey Peninsula weather.

5:20 pm PT: Dustin Johnson's routine is interrupted on 13 fairway by Hefty Spectators Happy Hour.

"Too much talkin'," he tells his looper. Looper gets it done.

Also enjoyed Dustin's f-bomb on 17 tee yesterday.

5:30 pm PT: On 14th tee, "Finn McCool' is yelled as G-Mac hits his drive.

5:40 pm PT: Hefty, after his wedge to 14 green, urges 'em on with one visor tip and two thumb-ups.

Since The Masters, Dustin Johnson's putter has deserted him. He should be no worse than -6 but just can't find that little touch.

The Rose wire to wire?

How could anyone not love Hefty.

Short knock Gary Woodland just might do it.

Check it:

Saturday afternoon is when the USGA loses the course so Woodlands out.

These are just my opinions.

Hey! This is the U.S. Open, you can't be picking or rooting for a fureigner.

Woodland's spit the bit before. He was starting to spit it in the latter stages of Friday's round, but the golf gods would have none of it. They'll play with him a little further.

Oostie's bounce-backs were a sight to behold Friday. Since his one major win, numerous major opportunities have been squandered. He's runner-up'd 'em all.

What a sight yesterday, Hefty in his long sleeve Workday shirt, and (I lost count) visor tips and thumb-ups. Going, going, gone.

Tiger Channel er Golf Channel is still closely following/cheering their reason-to-be. Going, going, gone.

Rose, McIlroy, Koepka, the winner should come from.

Koepka's understudy Wise is one to watch for the future.

"Whippet" Willett is chasing the mix. -4 thru 8.

I think he'll contend at the British. He can still think his way around a course with the best of 'em, has all the shots (esp. that low, driving "stinger"), and that's what it takes over there. And he can spray it around off the tee with few repercussions.
