Phil’s failures in the U.S. Open rival Sam Snead’s. The Open is at Pebble Beach again this year — one of Lefty’s favorite spots and where he just won. Could be his final hurrah to complete the cycle. Tiger also knows the track well. Could these two old war horses put on a show there this year? I am eager and a fan of both great golfers.

Don't know if those bad boys will win the open?

But I do know Phillip won't win this week.

If you know anything about the "word of wisdom" which I live my life by, no need to detox.

But who you associate with is paramount.

While Sergio remains on his best behavior, DeChambeau sinks his putter head into a practice putting green. What is it with these guys? As Our Brandel said, "These guys are guests."

Whatever, I'm enjoying the tournament's starter who robustly announces each player.

ESPN's Adam Shefter says there is "another big name" attached to the Robert Kraft/prostitution storyline. Let's see... who else has a house in Jupiter, FL? And who likes the ladies? A lot.

Still developing. Several counties in South Florida. Up to 200 names, with maybe 100 being charged. Some well-known names. Not all the involved "spas" are associated with the sex trafficking investigation.

Meanwhile, superstars Johnson & McIlroy duel in Mexico, as journeyman Baddeley leads PR.

Tiger took 7 putts on 2 holes toward the end of his round yesterday. Seemed to be a tad bit distracted. Gosh, you don't suppose he has, I dunno, something else heavily weighing on his mind do ya'?

But I always enjoy the anguish illustrated in playoffs.

Meanwhile, TW aka Messiah has a stiff neck and won't do Bay Hill this week, as originally planned.

The first-time winner of the Honda, Keith Mitchell, has been a 28 year-old journeyman until this week. He has some skills. Watching, I noted on the final hole, tied with several notables for the lead on an easy par-five, he crushed a drive @189mph(!) into a trap, hit out in the fairway and hit a beautiful wedge to a tough pin to 16 feet and buried the putt. The announcers said he had not made a putt outside 15 feet all tournament. Impressive.

Yes it was. So many jumbled together at the end I was sure we were going to get a 3 or 4 man playoff. Really happy when a player gets his first tour victory.

And Jack Nicklaus made some really good putts!

Bwaahaha, yeah sure. The PGA Tour has been fine without him and will continue to be so whenever he doesn't play. Yes he is the attendance and ratings needle when he shows up, but golf does not need him to move forward.
