2019 Nascar in HD

Boogity Boogity Boogity, lets go racing!!!!!

Daytona starts this weekend on Fox.

I think the biggest news of the off season is the change to the cars, which will probably make for a bunch of pack racing. Not really a fan, but lets see how it goes.

https://jeffgluck.com/nascar-test-2019-rules-package/

The other big news is that cars can now be disqualified. I like it.

Yeah, I saw that bit about the new DQ rules. We'll see if they actually have any teeth. Harvick and Rodney forging serial numbers on the wing and then acting like they didn't even care must have had something to do with it.

Since ESPN spaced Jayski's, is there another site that is similar including race start times(green flag)?

Looks like the new rules package to encourage more pack racing won't kick in until Vegas. I wonder why they skipped Atlanta, a notorious single file track.

And yeah that weather forecast is bad, yuck. Gonna have to watch the DVR starting with the ARCA race today.

A look into the inspection process.

I wasn't expecting the two less experienced Hendrick drivers to grab the front row, but there it is.

Gotta love Jimmie wrecking the field to win the Clash and then saying 'oh well, needed to be aggressive there'. Noticed that the rest of the drivers didn't appreciate that, especially Menard.

If that race was any indication we're in for another boring 500 until the last few laps.

I'm ready for "Black Hat" JJ. 'Bout time.

Not a very informative article. All I took from it was "It will be much harder to cheat now, and we will have to raise our game to beat the system". I would like to have seen pictures of the new system in action.

I'm ready for JJ getting knocked out of turn 4 over the bump. Danica knows it real well.

First the roval. Now this garbage. It's long overdue. Menard's got a free ride payback coming.

I agree it would have been nice to see the actual system at work, but the article at least summarized how it works.

LOL, what about Busch?

It looks like the Fords might be tough to beat this Sunday, but the big one could throw a wrench into the works.

I agree with this article. All anyone says about Nascar these days is the doom and gloom. As someone who has watched the sport for the better part of 35 years, I just roll with it and still enjoy watching most of the races.

I watched the latter half of the Xfinity race and with as many years as Fox has been doing this you would have thought they would have had the cameras figured out by now. Some of the shots looked like early streaming, all pixilated and just garbage while others were nice and clean. I hope they get it together for tomorrows 500.

Judging from the single-file, high-line racing we've seen so far the outlook for an exciting race appears slim. They've figured out that keeping cars in line makes for faster laps and no one can go anywhere on the bottom even in tandem.

I plan on utilizing PnP, having the race on one side and hockey on the other. That way if it turns out to be boring I have something else to watch.

Hamlin did a good job to get the victory. Bowyer was an idiot, but not the only one.

Yeah, the whole third stage was kind of embarrassing for the sport. It was really good for a while and then people just lose their heads.

People started to get really stupid with 30 to go and it went downhill from there. Process of elimination?

Pretty much and speaking of elimination. Maybe Nascar should eliminate the bottom five from each stage. It would make the stages more exciting and throw in some strategy.

Good weather just before the start. We'll have to see how it goes with the new rules. They were wide open in practice all the way around. About 750 less RPM too.

Interesting race, but it seemed a lot of cars couldn't pass once they got back in traffic. Larson looked unbeatable till he got the penalty. Let's see what happens when they go with the full package at Vegas next week.

Yeah pretty good race, nice and close at the end. Brad K displaced Mark Donohue as Penske's winningest driver. Like Eric says, we'll really see next weekend.

So, that was the new rules package. I thought the race was ok. Not great, but ok. I think Jeff Gluck summed it up best.
