But as far as I'm concerned, any of the several teams who reached 13-0 or better in the regular season before losing their first game has already surpassed that '72 Miami season regular season record of 12-0.
Then, if any of those teams went on to win all of their post season games too, after reaching at least 12-0 in the regular season, they too have either equaled or surpassed Miami's 14-0 post-season inclusive record.
By my count, there have been two of those teams. '85 Bears (12-0 start, 15-1 regular season, 18-1 including undefeated post season) and the '98 Broncos 13-0 start, 14-2 regular season, 17-2 including undefeated post season), both Super Bowl winners in those respective years.
