I don't think they're thinking undefeated, having done that and then lost the Super Bowl.
They are thin on offense. They lost another starting WR (Josh Gordon), their backup fullback (the starter is in IR), their best safety (Chung), a starting linebacker and their tight end. Their offensive line is down to one personnel package + 2 subs, and Brady is getting beat up. There's a reason why they decided to go on 4th down twice - their kicker is on IR and the replacement has earned some skepticism.
Having said all that, the Giants defense played well. They were aggressive and were able to get to Brady - 3 sacks and 1 int. They got the ball to the offense. The Pats defense is a problem for anyone, and it's improving since all of the rookies and second year people are playing significant minutes.
I expect some help on the 8th game, since two players will come off the IR - Wynn (left tackle) and Harry (WR) who should help. The kicker and the offensive line will keep being an issue.
It was a good game for a while, the Giants kid is good at QB, but the defense and special teams are just bears to overcome. It should be interesting when the offense comes around.
