Probably. I fondly remember a few similar type ladies when I was young... I found them rather appealing.

New Season

I just found out that this show's second season starts tomorrow, 4/16/20. I sure have not seen much advertising about it. I enjoy the show.

Good news. In The Dark is the only CW program I currently watch. There are six new CW shows that I'll give a look when they are released. Most interest to me are: The 4400 (reboot), and [B][/Walker[B].

What? They’re rebooting The 4400? Nice!

I enjoyed the season premiere. However I prefer the show being more character driven (versus story arc) and the movie Crank kept running through my head during their nonstop "adventure" Last season (for me) the weakest part of the show was when they focused solely on the murder and it's looking like they are going to focus largely on the criminal arc once again. I wasn't impressed how they setup the season... far too many eye-rolling moments. Especially with the cop(s).

That's not to say I don't look forward to Murphy as I find her intriguing enough to carry the series.

That is where the advantage of being able to watch the CW promos feed. I get to stay up-to-date on when things start. That said, HOTP normally posts news releases about this stuff and those show up before the promos start getting released.

I enjoy the show as well.

I was not in love with the season premier. I really did not want a continuation of last season's plot, only on steroids. I was hoping for some fresh plot not getting pulled deeper into the mess.

I figured with last season's finale we were "stuck" with the same arc going forward. I will say for that they did they did it well and I imagine it will settle down to some extent.

I'm not looking forward to this show trying to make Dean seem more sympathetic, because he's going after Nia while being a good dad to Chloe. I hope I'm wrong in that assumption and he finally gets what he deserves.

Agreed.

The wife and I did not like this opener much at all. I hope the direction changes a bit going forward. We enjoyed season 1, but were disappointed with the S2 premiere.

I think the show's targeted demographics aren't most AVS posters which accounts for their direction... to a large degree.

Meh. It feels like they didn’t actually change direction at all, which was part of the problem. Just more of exactly the same with slightly poorer writing IMO.

We’ll see if it picks up going forward.

Exactly. As I have posted (many times) I'd prefer character driven than story arc however clearly that isn't their approach.

I tried watching the Roswell show last year but like many noticed it was 80% soap opera and 20% scifi. Not bothering with this season.

On that series the SciFi appears to be even more stupid than the characters. Clearly CW driven on both counts.

I enjoy this show. It's fun to see it's "quirky" angles. But, this week's show seemed to be focused on one topic–sex. Most of the show was involved with this. I found it to be rather distracting from the premise of the show–Murphy's character and blindness. Yes, I know you can say the "sex" scenes are character development. But, I found this show was mostly boring. The scenes with Murphy, the prisoner and the detective were what I enjoyed. Anyway, that's just my $.02. YMMV.

I thought this week's episode was plenty eventful. The time spent with the intimate moments was comparable to the many encounters Murphy had last season. This is a CW show oriented toward an older audience, so I suspect they'll continue to push the envelope on awkward sex moments. It wouldn't work for Murphy to continue her random hookups with how focused she is on helping Max because of her love for him.

My biggest issue with this week's episode was how within minutes of meeting, Max's new jail cellmate shows him his $400 contraband phone and apparently gives Max carte blanche permission to use it any time.

I have a few sitting on the DVR so I haven't seen the episode however sex is a main topic of the show. If I remember correctly the premiere fired off with a sex scene that set the arc and has often been revisited. Regarding the premise I agree with you regarding it's her character. She is more multidimensional than most TV characters and being blind is (only) one of them.

I finally caught the last two episodes and unfortunately they are hitting the criminal aspect of the show even harder. There are still some entertaining elements however largely the story arc (of which I don't care about) is dominating the show leaving little time for the "quirky" characters to keep me invested.

Spoilers ahead regarding last night's episode for anyone not caught up:

Things have been really heating up and getting interesting, but the Deus Ex Jess twist kind of killed it for me. I hope they come up with a good explanation of why she was there with a gun at that particular moment. I was hoping Murphy would clobber Nia with a liquor bottle or happened to know where Chelsea kept a shotgun behind the bar.

Also, why was Ben in a pool of blood after dying of an overdose? He didn't seem to fall down that hard and split his head open or anything.

And don't get me started with Felix giving Ben the entire stash. They would've been better off turning themselves into the police and agreeing to work with them to get both Josiah and Nia in exchange for immunity. Yeah, I know. TV.
