Like all season premier episodes, the contestants are raring to go, all optimistic, chatty, some hit the sand ready to immediately try and play a "great" game that they have made up in their head .. it always gets better and better for me as they begin to wear down and get to the nitty gritty ..
The older lady making fire immediately was a nice touch on her part, I don't know if that will keep her in the game any longer length of time, but she seems like a real fighter that may have a good game plan ..
Sandra and Rob are coming across a bit different than I expected, I guess I figured they would be more arrogant .. they both really do seem to want to help .. Elizabeth taking Rob's challenge was a ballsy move .. and, I think Elizabeth did learn some things .. I'd guess the next to go to Idol Island would be facing off against Sandra .. since the name draw, (I think .. maybe wrong), revealed that it would be from the other Tribe, that may have influenced Elizabeth choice to keep the Rob / Sandra deal on the down low .. she knew her Tribe would not find out immediately anyway .. it's just a matter of time before the truth of Idol Island comes out .. in fact, players could help with their alliances by revealing what was what when they went ..
Rob and Sandra secretly listening in at Tribal was a nice touch ..
All in all, a very good start .. although some of the Commercial Breaks seemed excessively long, and the slipping in of a tiny clip of Survivor in the middle of the Commercial Break is a nasty way to get you to stop and see if you missed something ..
Oddball: Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?
