I've noticed more on tour wearing these flat feet shoes with little arch support. As if back issues weren't enough.

"'It's fashion, bro': How golf stepped up its shoe game" Don't call me bro. I'm a dude.

Quote:
Whether you've recently watched a PGA Tour event or follow professional golfers on social media, you've likely seen a drastic change in footwear choices from the best players in the world. Customized shoes, running shoes with spikes, and statements and messages expressed through words and pictures and bright colors have replaced the old, boring saddle shoes of the past.

Maybe Far Hills, New Jersey is listening. This course held the 1987 PGA Championship. 287 (-1) Lanny Wadkins, Larry Nelson. Nelson won the playoff.
The course received a partial remodel in 2002.

In my opinion Bones is already the best course reporter on tv. He was really informative and his prediction of shots accurate. A pleasure to listen to.

Zero wins '14 through '17 could be enough for both.

Severe salary cut from Mickelson looper to on-course reporter.

Interestingly, too, with his schedule, there remains the potential for Mackay to do some caddieing while also broadcasting. “I don’t think it rules anything out,” Mackay said. “I’m going to be working 20-odd weeks a year. I think being a caddie is always going to be in my blood, but right now it’s one thing at a time.”

He made about $5 million working for Phil, not too shabby.

Now he make $500,000 guaranteed and only works 20 weeks a year, plus he doesn't have to lug around that bag on his two replacement knees.

That's what they always say. But there's usually more to it than that. They were the best of friends. Phil was the Best Man at his wedding, if I'm not mistaken. He was far more than just a looper. I was just wondering if there was some larger reason. Like for example, how Stevie Williams fell out with Tiger because of the latter's constant philandering. Wondered if there was any "dirt" there I just hadn't heard about.

Yeah, that could certainly be a factor, but he's still walking the courses and lugging around transmitting equipment. But I must say -- $500K for an on-course reporter sure ain't too shabby either!

I think $500K was referring to his Mickelson looping, an average estimate. I'd be surprised if he's making $200K as on-course reporter.

"Azinger prompts social media backlash after European Tour comments"

Quote:
"I like Paul Azinger a lot. And get on with him great. But Paul please do not condescend or disrespect the European Tour and our players like that," Poulter said on Twitter. "We have slapped your arse in Ryder Cup for so long. I know you captained a win but seriously that was embarrassing today."
https://www.espn.com/golf/story/_/id...-tour-comments
Zinger has a long history of getting under Euro skin. It may've begun with his and Seve Ballesteros' differences.

I liked Poulter's response. It should be noted that Zinger borrowed from the Euros comradeship when formulating his Ryder Cup team pairings. A consulting psychologist to the team referred to this strategy as "podding".

It's a badge of honor TT.

But I hang my hat on that my predictions are at almost 100% percent level.

No bragging just fact TT.

Your boy's "The Hack and Koepka" are stinking it up.

Like I told you that Ethyl and Lulu will help you with predictions.

it's easy to be 100% when you never make any predictions...after the fact you claim you were right...anytime you make a wrong prediction you blame it on your imaginary friends Ethyl and Lucy...weren't you in the AVS pool a few years back when all that controversy happened using a pseudonym?...and you didn't win then either...I think that's when everyone started blocking you lol...be careful going forward...if you want to get into the Club you're going to have to follow the rules

I think you were in the pool...except you were scared to use your own name because you didn't want to be recognized for your bad picks...so you used 'Favorites' or 'Winner Winner chicken Dinner' or something along those lines as your nickname...first step in asking for forgiveness is to admit your mistakes...I'm trying to help you get un-blocked

Ethyl said help her help you.

She felt bad that you were tongue lashed about the pool.

Said go to the "Gold Sheet" and and lists all winners and losers against the point spread for 2019-2020.

She will share her recipe with you.

The pool isn't a mystery to win. You don't need to know anything about football.

What's astonishing is you know less about golf.

No wins for your boy Koepka for this year.

Since it's Bay Hill week, why not stroll down memory lane. Many have a personal Arnie memory. Proud to say, I have personal Slammin' Sammy, Arnie, and Jack memories. And two good ones out of three ain't bad. Sorry, Sam.

One of the good ones, 1978. Up close with The King. Can't think of much to say 'cept, "Arnold, what yardage will be used for the Bay Hill tournament next year? He promptly and politely answered, "Oh, probably 6700 to 6800."

1979 would be the first year for Bay Hill hosting the Orlando event. I was somewhat surprised at his yardage, since I played the course in '77, and noted at the time it could be a big boy test of well over 7000 yards.

Yesterday, thinking of this exchange more than 40 years ago, I searched for something on the 1979 Bay Hill tournament, and found this.

"Palmer's Site Easy For Pros"

Quote:
The reason Arnold Palmer's face is red is that there are so many red numbers on the scoreboard, representing birdies and eagles. In his debut as the sponsor of the Citrus Classic. Palmer is sneered that so many players are embarrassing the golf course he had so meticulously prepared to be a back‐breaker.
https://www.nytimes.com/1979/03/03/a...-balanced.html
FWIW Bay Hill yesterday played 7,342 yards. Still not long enough for a couple of pros. ha ha

Go Arnie. Thanks for the memories.
