Better than that. Technically, I could even really bring back Kate... the real Kate (hint) if everyone was up for it. But there is definitely a way within the scheme of the show that makes a kind of sense AND mostly plausibly explains just why it took so long to happen. I don't want to spill the beans just in case I win the recognition lottery one day and someone from TV land actually wanted to buy a story

I watched this week's episode last night--"Abby's" goodbye episode. I enjoyed it. What caught my eye was the flashback of "Kate" being killed on the rooftop after saving "Gibbs" from being shot. After all these years, that scene still gets to me. "Gibbs" thanks "Kate" for saving him and that she did a good job. Then "Kate" says--"I never thought I would live to hear you say----BANG". Once again--an amazing scene.

So they kill off Ziva to tee up Tony's departure, and now Clay to tee up Abby's departure. Who's next?

Hopefully Fez and the psychiatrist. Since she's arrived it's like Gibbs has no clue how to solve a crime without talking to her to find out the mind of the killer. Hmmm.... you've been doing that for years and now ya need someone to tell ya. Neither Fez or her fit... kill em both off

I still think they should have shut it down after Tony left,It was tolerable after Ziva left but anymore well not so much. We'll suffer through till the end Been there from the start and we'll hang tough. LOL

I can't remember what Tony is supposed to be doing now, but I think a more satisfactory plot would have Abby leaving because Tony's family desperately needed her in some way, especially with appearances by Weatherly, Wagner and some adorable mini-Ziva actress as the daughter.

Clay could have just faded out of the picture - it would be half a season before anyone even noticed his absence...

I think Tony's in Paris with his daughter (also in NYC as Bull).

They added so many characters after Tony left and now I think they're paring the list down. They will need someone with real charisma since it looks like the remaining characters are Gibbs, Bishop, Torres, McGee, Vance, Quinn, Ducky and Palmer. Actually, looking at what I just typed, that's a pretty large cast, but Palmer, Quinn and Vance do nothing for me.

Glasberg brought in the new characters, then when he died unexpectedly nobody knew what his plans were to integrate them into the cast and they were left to drift into obscurity...

Just finished the episode from this week. I have two thoughts. NCIS without Abby is going to be horrible. She, Gibbs and Ducky are NCIS.

When McGhee was at the hospital all night and said he was going to stay there until she woke up, shouldn't he have gone home to his wife and kids?

I agree. Recent statements by Pauley Perrette seem to indicate that there were on-set issues. However, it all seems very vague and it's tough to figure out what's going on. It appears that she's trying to keep the lid on so that the show isn't destroyed by scandal. Unfortunately, we're all under the microscope these days and eventually the truth will come out.

If she was being assaulted on the set, I can't blame her for calling it quits after 15 seasons. A lot of actresses would have hung it up after only 12 or 13 years. And only $200K for her part-time role - that's just adding insult to injury!

Actually... Ducky was also moonlighting as a profiler. Lots of episodes Gibbs goes to Ducky and asks for a psychological profile of the suspect. With McCallum scaled back in most episodes, the new psychiatrist is filling that part of Ducky's role on the show while Palmer just does 100% medical examiner.

It appears that she has had a very unfortunate life. She claims she was raped in high school when she was 15. And, by her own account: She says the assault resulted in a "series of abusive relationships, terrible self-worth, and self-blame, dismissing a few groping incidents, allowing myself to be bullied by a powerful man for way too long in a work environment until I finally said enough and took no more words from anyone, including myself that being complacent was 'good behavior.'" She has had numerous fights with her ex-husband from 2004-2014. She was attacked by a homeless man in 2015. I hope she gets the help she needs.

Saw that too. I was expecting they'd kill her off; almost did. Saw lots of 'news' 'graphs coupled with my AOL e-mail delivery that she'd, ah, irritated an advertiser because she started self-marketing a product that conflicted with their ad product. They insisted she get booted. Haven't seen many similar posts on the topic. -- John

I'm in the who cares camp... The Abby character on the show basically turned into a caricature of her character after the first few seasons and was frankly tiresome.

Out of curiosity, who was the character "Phil" supposed to be in this week's show? The character said he was a friend of Gibbs. But, I can't place him in any previous episode over the years. Also, once the female fisher first appeared, to me, it was obvious to me that, somehow, she was tied in with the robbery. You don't just have a new face appear that is given several lines of dialogue without that person showing up later.

“Phil” was on an episode last season where he played a Navy Captain who was supposedly dead but was really hiding out in a basement. Phil and Jethro were past friends in that episode.

To revive this thread--I thought it was a nice twist (at the end of the show) for Ellie to find the note that let her know that Ziva was alive, not dead. But, she was to keep it a secret to protect her family. Also nice was that DiNozzo's name was mentioned.

My local CBS channel decided to run over an hour of wall-to-wall weather coverage last night. And now due to CBS All Access, it will cost me money to watch the missed episode.

What they did on the finale was a kind of genius really... sure, the actress is back for at least an episode next season... but is her character really there? Or is it another hallucination? Even Gibbs isn't going to be sure unless and until someone else admits to seeing her!
