Probably in the minority here but I liked it best in S1-3 when it was just the boys and their occasional side characters helping on MOTW episodes. I'll be glad to get back to that if possible to close it out. Cass will be back - the actor is only contracted for half the episodes, so he needed to go off somewhere
Kevin coming back as a cameo hurt as I was hoping it was a more permanent release but I didn't count him.

I count Jack as being killed again. They used the actor for another character but they killed off the actor/character permanently, again.

Rowena was a shock.

I didn't say just this season, I just said they are killing everyone off. In preparation for the final season the last half of last season they started killing off more and more. Their mother, some female hunters that have been on the show, Jack the first time, the Devil's vessel, etc. Further back Crowley, etc. If you just take the whole original cast/group and look at who is left, all we really have is Sam, Dean, and Castiel. Not boding well for the remaining crew. The core group is rather small. All that is left are smaller guest stars over the years.

Not sure what direction it should go or who should be left, just as long as it is not a magical finger snap by Chuck and everyone is back.

I would expand that to seasons 1-5, the golden years for Supernatural. Once Sam went to hell the writers scrambled to come up with new ideas. I mean, where do you go after stopping the Apocalypse?

I'm still going to watch to the bitter end, but this season is the weakest. Hopefully it will end with a big bang, since Chuck and Amara popped up.

Seasons 1-5 made this show. They were tightly written, had several epic moments and the progression was incredible.

This season has felt like the worst in a long, long time. Almost as bad as the Leviathan season. Really sad to see them limping to the finish line.

Well, Eric Kripke didn't originally plan for the series to go past the 5th year, so he plotted everything to end there. The network wanted it to continue, so it did, but he left the show. That's why the show declined for a while after season 5.

Season 5 was great, if not a little prescient:

Sorry, this is a little political, but from Wikiquotes:

Dean: Because. We're humans. And when humans want something, really, really bad...we lie.

Castiel: Why?

Dean: Because. That's how you become President.

Yup, I'm aware. Did he have a different ending in mind for season 5? Wonder if Sam would've come back without a soul if he could've just ended the show there.

Would've been cool to have Kripke back to finish out this season, but oh well.

If season 5 had been the last season, I don't think the stinger at the end of the finale with Sam under the street light would have happened. I think they would have implied that Sam never came back.

That was my thought as well. The stinger felt very unnatural, and it was there soley for the purpose of continuing the show.

it's been like 4 episodes. Not enough to judge anything. We don't even know where they are going yet.

However I loved the most recent ep, especially Chuck's stuff.

I love that this thread has survived all 15 years of the show. New episode tonight.

The Gamblers

Season 15, Episode 11

Sam and Dean press their luck in a winner-takes-all game of pool; Castiel hunts down a would-be murderer, but not for reasons one might think.

Maybe they can rewrite the storyline so it's about Sam and Dean phoning it in.

Isn't that what it is now? I stand by comments when the season started. This has been pretty lackluster.

Supernatural boss announces this week's episode will be the last 'for a while'

The Winchesters have met their match in the coronavirus pandemic.

After Supernatural paused filming on its final season with only two episodes to go, co-showrunner Andrew Dabb has announced that Monday's hour — which sees the return of Ruby and Jo — will be the last episode to air "for a while." (The episode is technically No. 13 in a season that will contain 20 episodes when all is said and done.)

As Dabb explained on Twitter, "We have filmed through episode 18, however our visual effects and sound departments have closed because of the outbreak. So, right now, the episodes can't be finished. However, have some special treats coming along the way-- to help us all get through this."

However, for those fans worried that this could mean an abrupt end to the series, Dabb added, "And yes, we, the CW, and Warner Bros fully intend to return and finish the series. It's not a matter of 'if', it's a matter of 'when.'"
