Yes, but one of the weaker ones. No laugh out loud moments and precious few chuckles (and virtually no Catalina, as has been mentioned). But the "Y2K" episode the week before might have been the funniest so far, (along with "Joy's Wedding"). Heck, Walt didn't even talk backwards. ;)

This show is so uneven. One week it's great, the next....meh. If they don't iron out the quality variations, it will never rise to the level of the classic comedies (Mash, Cheers, Seinfeld, etc.) which never took any weeks off. But it does appear to be on safe ground, ratings wise. Once you reach a certain level, it's hard to get dislodged even if you stumble a bit (e.g. Desperate Housewives).

Anyone see an HD Easter Egg?

I think this show is priceless. They have found a brand of humor not seen on most other current or past shows.

I'm not sure I've seen a bad episode. Earl and Randy are perfect in their roles, and the timing is just about perfect.

It's still the first season. None of those classic hit their stride until 2 or 3 seasons had passed.

i don't know about that. some of the early seinfeld episodes were so bad they're even painful to watch today in syndication.

Hmmm. I thought the Y2K episode sucked pretty badly. It wasn't really all that funny and yes, I know it's a comedy, but widescreen flat panel displays on the shelf of a Wal-Mart-type store in January, 2000? I don't think so...

Personally, I haven't laughed as hard at anything in a long while as I did when Earl and his brother were trapped in the water tower and started singing the theme from The Greatest American Hero. :D

This is totally true. If I had started watching Seinfeld in the first couple of seasons, I would have totally written it off. Earl has a lot fo potential. perhaps they need to expand on the other characters. They all seem a bit one dimensional.

It was a Big Lots store. I saw them at the Paley festival and they told the audience this.

Well, it had to happen... even though this is still it's first season... there is now a "classic" episode of My Name Is Earl ;)

The Bounty Hunter with freaking Joy, Earl and Jessie (a.k.a. Juliette Lewis) was a laugh riot! :D

I thought the same thing. This was one of their best yet. Seeing Joy go off on Juliette Lewis when you just KNEW that Lewis with all of her training was going to kick Joy's butt had me in stitches.

I must have been in a funk, because I didn't find it very funny compared to most of the others.

I thought it was great the way a pummeled Jessie dropped to the ground and started to do push-ups as Earl and Joy drove away! :D

the good news is... Earl is available ;)

Agreed. Two weak eps in a row now. Hopefully, they'll break the streak next week. As I've mentioned before, this show can be very funny, but it's very uneven as well.

In the Bounty Hunter and an earlier episode Joy has said something like, "Oh, Snap!!". I've heard that phrase on a VW commercial too and wonder if someone can inform me about it. Any ideas?

That's one of the words that (Director) Spike Lee 'invented' several years ago. It's intended to obviously replace the real expletive. Examples:

*Frak! (from BSG) Lee didn't invent that one.

*Micki-Friki

*Snap (or) Oh, shnap!

In the movie Do the Right Thing, Rosie Perez says "micki-friki" during an argument with Spike (Mookie). He responds by saying "Don't talk like that in front of my son!" That was hilarious.

"I knew you'd say that"...*BLAM!*
