Right, 1080P is the limit. Even so, 1080P sources can still be run through the Darbee for improvement before upscaling to 4K. I find that to work very well. I prefer the picture on my OTA Tivo>Darbee to the picture from my cable TV box for local stations. As wonderful as 4K can be, those of us who love the Darbee find it hard to put it in the closet, it has been that good.

+1 on hard to let go of Darbee. Having one should be an AVS merit badge requirement

I am essentially doing the same as you, except I am taking it a step farther. I have the Darbee on the output of my Integra servicing 1080 and below to one input of my TV. (My Tivo is into one Integra input) My Ultra Blu-Ray sends signal to another input of my 75" 8K TV and handles ALL the various flavors of Blu-Rays.

I was like, how you watching that on Netflix?

Well, it seems only international Netflix customers can and you're in Canada. USA Netflix it's not listed.

Luckily I've got espn as it's played on that channel...

Well after messing around some more with my PC (which only occasionally requires a power cycle of the Darbee to work) display settings I was able to get the Netflix app on the PC to work without stuttering so I was able to get 1080p Netflix without using the PS4 Pro. I don't game much on the PS4 but I think if I disable hdcp I will be able to use the Darbee for gaming on it. I haven't tried my Telus box yet since I have it hooked up upstairs to my Sony TV at the moment. I am using the hi-def setting at around 50% as I find it adds some pop and clarity without being too harsh on faces.

Can anyone recommend a good Android based 1080p tv box with a remote that I can load up apps on and is Darbee compatible?

You need to read the thread in the link I pasted as it will tell you which boxes are accurate with their outputs.

Took a look at the thread but not sure how it helps for my question. I was just hoping someone that has a Darbee could recommend an Android streamer box that works fine without handshake issues or hdcp problems. Cheers

My point is that you want to make sure you get one that has a bit correct output. If you don't care about that then don't bother reading the thread.

You may (or may not) have these with any device. Suggestions in the rest of this thread will help.

Yeah I understand. This thread covers a lot of years so I was hoping some people that might still be using the Darbee could tell me what streaming devices are working for them. I know that doesn't guarantee the same device won't work for me.

Not sure why, but my darbee just died. I only used it for broadcast, but still liked it. It's about five years old.

Do they even still sell these things anymore?

Video: JVC RS620/X9500 projector, Stewart ST130 screen, Panasonic ub820 UHD player
Audio: Anthem AVM60 preamp, Anthem MCA525 amp, B&K Reference 125.7 amp
Subs: dual SVS PC-12 cylinders
Speakers: RBH SV-661R and SV-661CR fronts, Jamo 626k4 side/rear surrounds, DefTech DI6.5R heights
