It's always better if you can export config or take GUI screenshot when signal is going thru and all devices are connected, but if you cannot, it's ok, better have a config export without any devices connected rather than no config export.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me the difference between the 4K Vertex 2 and the Diva? The only major difference I’m seeing is the ambient light control and sync. Is that correct? Thank you!

Diva have ambient light, lag tester and 1080p SDR output, so only 1x 18Gbps output
Vertex have 2 x 18 Gbps output and special management of +5v at output (can solve Android TV issues)

Apart from that, they all have same features (4 inputs, webserver, dedicated audio output that can extract HDMI/ARC/EARC audio and forward to any AVR input)

Arrow Vertex Android APP update and GoBlue firmware update

There is an updated Vertex Android APP available from Google Play, it add support for Android 9.
There is also an updated GoBlue firmware that fix a small bug on iOS.

Dangerously interested in the upcoming Vertex 2!!!

But can I ask you to please explain, in plain language, how the AUDIO OUT port works on the Vertex 2? I've asked that question in another sub-forum, but this seems to be the most relevant place for that (please forgive my low tech question, I'm drinking from the proverbial fire hose learning about all these HDMI/EDID/HDCP formats and the associated handshake issues...)

Does it strip ALL flags relevant to 4k/LLDV/HDR video portion and independently send a blank 1080p signal that contains max 192 kHz/24-bit audio only? My AVR is HDMI ver 1.3 max, but my Sony TV can do most recent 4k video formats (LLDV, HDR10), and obviously I don't want the highest EDID resolution (belonging to Sony TV) to dictate what audio can be played on my AVR.

Yes of course it does that, selectable 720p/1080p blackframed video that will output sound from any devices at input and/or extract ARC/eARC from Sink at TX0 (up to Atmos for high bit rate for eARC)
So don't worry, it's especially made for setup like yours.

Thank you @HDfury - I'm counting on it as I've just placed an order for Vertex 2! Now the waiting starts...June 17th, are you here yet??

I presume that, since my input devices are quite common (Apple TV 4k + Cambridge Audio CXUHD disc player) you've worked any possible/known bugs and the V2 should work flawlessly with them. My only concern is the audio sink: my Krell Evolution 707 SSP (HDMI ver 1.3 only) is quite legacy and not that common...hence my HDMI audio extractor question.

Yes, the new generation is based on Vertex technology which is proven super reliable and widely compatible. however, a new device release can have initial hiccups, but we are here to fix any problem at light speed, for ex: we made 4 updates in 2 days for Diva

I preordered the new Vertex2 and have a few basic questions. I’ll have an HTPC, Xbox One X, and a PS4 Pro as inputs.

- Output 1 —> Denon x4400 -> JVC x790 Projector
- Output 2 —> Denon 730H -> LG OLED B7

1. My x790 is in a seperate room. To connect the RS232/DB9 adapter. I just need a standard male to female 3.5 mm audio extension cable?

2. The Vertex will allow the two outputs to send different 4k input signals simultaneously? Therefore, I can watch movies on the projector while my kids play Xbox or PS4 on the Oled (or vice versa).

3. The Vertex will allow the two outputs to send the same 4k input signal simultaneously?

4. The Vertex can be controlled via the Logitech Harmony hub?

Thank you.

Rec Room: JVC x790 w/120" Silver Ticket screen, Denon x4400H 5.1.4 with Kef Q100 L/R, Q200 centre, T101 surrounds, Ci160er rear atmos, Energy Rc-Mini - front atmos, SVS PC-2000. Family Room: LG 65B7P OLED, Denon x1500H 5.1 - Kef Q500, Q200c, Energy v-mini - surrounds. Calibration Gear: X-Rite i1Display Pro, Calman Home Enthusiast, trial & error, and a patient wife.

1. Yes correct.
2. Yes it's a full matrix, no problem for that
3. Yes
4. Yes (just note that it can takes a couple of weeks before codes become available on harmony db, you can also send them your own IR code list to add to your account)

Looks like you are all good

It`s very frustrating that we don`t have such option as Full Video + audio autosense in Automix in Vertex. And that`s why no audio when HD audio bitstreamed to audio device without HD Audio support.
So many Automix modes and no such important mode...

1. Yes that's a solution
2. Not possible due to previous answer.
3. I would say you have a third option which is to add an EDID manager to correct AVR edid issue between Vertex top out and your AVR, insert something like Dr.HDMI 4K there and you should be perfectly fine.
How Dr.HDMI 4K can help in this situation without Automix mode (Full Video + audio autosense)?

Maybe HDfury can confirm whether or not the RS232 port enclosure has been changed on the Vertex2 compared to the original Vertex.

With the original Vertex you need to purchase an extension cable with connector that will fit inside the Vertex port opening. See this post:

Not sure what you are talking about, NATIVE flag gives best possible Audio from any connected, TOP MAX flag copy exact AUDIO specs from device at TOP OUTPUT.

AUTOMIX by definition is MIXING EDID together, there is nothing to mix on a device that have 1 input and 1 output.
As far as I recall your problem (and you should add link to discussion when you come back after many posts and you are not on the current page anymore), the AVR was corrupting the EDID by reporting wrong max bandwidth or something like that, so inserting Dr.HDMI4K will advertise correct video and audio specs always.. thus solving the problem of AVR reporting wrong data.

three options in one setup:

1. 4k source - vertex - AVR (HD Audio) - 1080p50 TV - I need 1080p23 and HD audio

2. 4k source - vertex - AVR (HD Audio) in stand by - 1080p50 TV - I need 1080p23 and core audio

3. 4k source - vertex - 1st output 4k TV + 2nd output AVR (HD Audio) - I need 4k and muted audio (1st output) + 1080p and HD audio (2nd output)

Problem with option 2: no audio when playing file with HD Audio. Please advice.

Problem with option 2: no audio when playing file with HD Audio. Please advice.

Export config when you try option 2 and explain better, if you send HD AUDIO and AVR is OFF, how do you expect this to work ?
If you believe Vertex can take HD audio and output STEREO for your TV, then answer is NO, none of our devices do any audio format manipulation.

Fine details ? what do you mean exactly ? or what is not clear ? the names are self explanatory. (ex min video/max audio = take min video capabilities from both edid and take max audio capabilities from both and build an edid out of it)

I see no relation with what I wrote and what you just wrote here but to answer your question: ALGO are USELESS if there is only ONE DEVICE AT OUTPUT.

I just double checked my posts from this april and see that I had no problem before with Option 2. But today this doesn`t work...
Also I had problems today with Option 3: PCM instead of HD Audio to AVR.
I suppose that something goes wrong with MY Vertex...

How better reset Vertex in this case? May be some options to turn ON and OFF and back?

1. I expect that vertex should send proper EDID to my source and source will send HD Audio or core audio accordingly...

2. example:
[MUTE BOT TX AUDIO]: If you use an AVR at TOP output, you might want to disable sound going to equipment connected at BOT output. Here you can mute the BOT output sound.

in this case, do Vertex count BOT TX AUDIO capabilities?

When you have your setup working, you export config and then you can update firmware/hard reset, whatever, and restore working config anytime.

1. Yes so your writing was wrong since you wrote you want to send HD audio when AVR is OFF, so try to formulate something that make sense and attach config for it if you meet a problem.

2. Muting sound have nothing to do with EDID creation. 2 separate things.

Is it common case that I need to hard reset Vertex from time to time to have proper result in setup?
