Same as yours.

God Bless!
A good way to test your Iris on your projector is on the Spears and Munsil disc. Go to Video processing then select Luminance Loading. Don't stare directly at the lens but on an angle and you can actually see the Iris at work.

Hello, everyone.

Do you have turning on sequence recommendation? Which should be turned on first and then and last?
I have source(Apple TV 4k, blu-ray player) to Vertex2, Audio out to preprocessor and TX0 to projector.
I ask about turning on sequence to make sure no HDMI handshaking problem.

Thank you for your help and support.

Display first always, then AVR (if any) then source.

What about Vertex2? When should I turn Vertex2 on? Before or after turning on which equipment?

Thank you for your help and support.

Vertex2 is always in standby and will turn on when any input or output turns active, if you put it on a controlled switch, you can turn it before or after display, does not matter much, it will work in both cases.

Using it tonight for the first time I found its reduced the handshake. It goes quick. I haven’t played around with anything else in the menu so far so good. Lots to learn

OK cheers thanks for that. So I need 5.5mm outer diameter, 2.1mm inner, Center Positive, 12V

Shame that one in the picture didn't have an Aus adapter, just the Euro ones!

One more question, please.
I would like to know about EDID setting.
Right now it is AUTOMIX, VIDEO FLAGS : TX0 and AUDIO FLAGS : AUDIO OUT by default.
Can I change it to COPY TX0 SINK?
The Sony 4k projector doesn't have audio speakers built-in and I have a preprocessor connected from Audio out HDMI of Vertex2.

Thank you for your help and support.

no, if you use COPY TX0 then it will copy to your PJ EDID as it is, means without any audio capabilities.
If you use video flag TX0 then it takes video capabilities from your PJ and audio flag : audio out takes audio capabilities from your sound device. That seems correct to me.

A very quick question directed at HTPC owner having Vertex 2 in the video chain. How and where do you connect your Vertex 2 in the video chain? I'm encountering some problem with movie playback stuttering and lipsync issue (likely cause from stuttering) when I put my Vertex 2 right in the middle of the video chain.

Here's a depiction of my connection.

Source (HTPC) > [AVR (Input) - AVR (Monitor Output)] > Input 0 (RX0) > TX0 > Sony Projector - this connection method works for ALL my devices. I'm able to get into the Windows environment in my HTPC. It is the issue with video playback. I'm using MPC-HC with MadVR as the preferred shader. Prior to Vertex 2, I have no problem with video playback. I have selected Preset 11 (no DV) since my Graphics Card )GTX1080Ti) has no DV capability. I believe it has something to do with the EDID sending to my display causing this problem.

Can anyone share how you setup your HTPC with MPC-BE/HC using MadVR.

Thanks!

Ray

Send config export if you want us to verify your settings, vertex cannot alter frame rate, so it is not the culprit here. Issue is more likely elsewhere.

I followed the process outlined on your website to set up Dolby Vision (LLDV) on my Epson 5050ub and it works great. The improvements in picture quality are truly amazing. However, my min/max nits adjustments on the HDR and DV tabs don't persist and require reentry.

Firmware is 0.53
Sony ubp-x800m2 > Onkyo TX-RZ920 > HDFury Vertex2 > Epson 5050ub

They persist to the Vertex2 when you click the Send buttons. But they are not redisplayed in the Custom HDR and DV datablock fields. The fields will repopulate with default values.

Arrow Vertex2 - FW0.54

This update is NOT mandatory in case of issue.
Anyone willing to update and provide feedback is welcome.

######### What's new on FW 0.54 #########

1. Added EDID #10 default with Mark Sony A1 BT2020

2. Replaced EDID #5 name with Sony A1 DCI-P3

3. Changed the way how OLED turns on with events to prevent burn-in. Now oled needs either a button press or RX signal to become active.

4. Updated OLED Menu tree and added RESET in it (full factory reset)

5. Updated OLED FADE setting so that if user tries to set 0 seconds then it convertes to the default 30sec (burn-in prevention)

Make sure to refresh your browser (CTRL + F5) or clear your internet cache after update.

Cool.
So what happens when we now save our custom DV EDID to slot 10? Does it retain the new name you have given it?

Just a point to note, that EDID isn't based on a Sony - it's a fully loaded 4K60 HDR EDID with all sound plus the Dolby Block set at 1000nits in BT.2020.

Calling it Sony might confuse people...

The A1 still refers to the Sony A1 - perhaps makes sense to call it "Full + BT.2020 LLDV" in line with Custom slots 1, 2 & 3 and also that's what people are used to with that EDID.

I think you do have inserted A1 LLDV string and just changed nits and changed DCI-P3 > BT2020 in it, right ? so for me it's A1 string for BT2020
The thing is also that people in thread history always refer to A1 LLDV, so i'm not sure if changing now will results in more or less confusion.

But just determine what ever name you guys want for it and we will apply to next update.

No, it's a completely different EDID to the A1 LLDV - it is based on EDID "11 - 4K60-444 600MHz HDR BT2020 All Sound" with the addition of a Dolby Block in CEA Extension 1, so it has no relation to the Sony A1.

I'll ask in the thread and see what folks say.

I'll ask in the thread and see what folks say.

Why not eARC to soundbar from Audio Out?

Hi - I just purchased the Vertex2 for one reason only. I loved the idea of a HDMI swizz army knife switch/splitter so I could use it together with a eARC soundbar since my TV don't offer eARC.

Off cause it's my mistake not to read this forum before purchasing, but I did expect that the Vertex 2 would work with a soundbar on audio out (I'm using Sonos ARC and Sonos Beam).

I connected the soundbar to the audio out port on the Vertex2, but the soundbar remained quiet all the time.

Is it really not possible to make the Vertex2 the eARC host my TV isn't.

Couple of people replied - Dominic suggested just "BT2020 LLDV" but I think that may imply that it just does LLDV and nothing else. Another guy liked "Full + BT2020 LLDV"

The first 3 Custom EDIDs are called "Full" plus the extra detail which implies it's a full EDID (ie all video, all sound) plus the additional stuff, so I still think "Full + BT2020 LLDV" makes the most sense and is least confusing.

I think the more descriptive Full+ BT2020 LLDV would be best.

There is no solution in the world for sonos soundbar since they do not use HDMI input, but HDMI output only and in HDMI you cannot connect OUTPUT to OUTPUT or INPUT to INPUT, OUTPUT goes to INPUT only.
We will prolly have one for end of the year.
