Interesting, thanks for that insight. On the other hand I hate it when I leave NC on and the next time I grab my headphones the battery is dead so I think I'd prefer what Sony does. But would prefer if that were defeatable.

But sound quality and NC wise the Sony MDR is a clear winner.
