Dual output amp vs 2 single output amps

I have a 5.1.2 setup powered by a Marantz sr7011. At night we sometimes need to use headphones. Right now I am using the headphone out on the front of the sr7011 with a y splitter to drive 2 sets of Sennheiser HD598Cs.

I want to experiment with a headphone amp to see if I notice an increase in sound quality. It seems most of the market is focused on amps that have a single output. A smaller number seem to have multiple outputs.

Would I be better off with 2 single output amps, running the sr7011 stereo pre-outs to the first amp and the pre-outs on the first amp to the second amp? Would it be advisable to purchase a single output amp and use the y splitter like I am now to drive two pairs off of the one amp?

Either way I'm planning to keep the total purchase under $300.

Any advice welcome. Thanks.
