IO-4 and IO-6 Headphones from Danish Audiophile Loudspeaker Industries at CanJam 2020

Danish Audiophile Loudspeaker Industries, a.k.a. DALI, is best known for its high performance speaker systems. However the company has brought its expertise in engineering to the full size, closed back wireless headphone category (Where Bose and Sony are currently popular options) with two new models, the IO-4 and IO-6. The primary difference between the two is that the IO-6 features active noise cancellation.

These attractive headphones feel nice on your head and sound good. They weigh 320 g which is light enough to not notice. DALI utilizes paper drivers in these headphones, a material that the company has much experience working with for its loudspeaker offerings. The company’s goal is low distortion and minimal coloration for transparent sound that is non-fatiguing.

Check out this interview to find out more about the IO-4 and IO-6 from DALI

Both models are designed and engineered in Denmark. The Bluetooth IO-4 Offers up to 60 hours of battery life from a single charge, while the IO-6 has a 30 hour battery life, per charge. Either way, you’re going easily to get through an entire day without needing to charge these headphones. Charge time for either model is 2.5 hours from empty.

Other highlights include a high durability, flexible design that includes rotatable ear cups so you can easily toss them into a bag or have them hang comfortably around your neck.

As for performance specs, the 50 mm “free edge“ paper fiber con driver delivers 10 Hz to 20,000 Hz response. Impedance is listed at 25 ohms. An IP53 rating means these headphones have some dust and splash resistance, so you can feel assured when using these outdoors in less than ideal conditions.

The DALI IO-6 is available now on Amazon for $499 a pair. And you can pick up the IO-4 on Amazon for $399 if active noise cancellation is not all that important to you.

They look sharp, it's just a shame that both models are wireless.

I love great sound but nothing beats the convenience of having wireless and active noise cancellation when I'm commuting to work. They are the best sounding pair of BT headphones I have owned. They sound fantastic! I have the IO-6. They come with cables so you can still use them wired.
