I need a headphone amp

hi all.

I would like to find a headphone amp under about $200 and I am so confused about which of the hundreds of models available that I should buy!

I have a Sennheiser HD 280 Pro, and even a Sennheiser 599, which sounds like garbage on my Denon small home theater setup, probably needs an amp for it.
I read even a senn 280 headphone could benefit from an amp.

Ideally, I use a computer, an iPad, the Denon, tv audio out, and even a PlayStation 2, over the weeks. I have, so far, a mini-jack cord for each system and each cord can plug into my headphone in turns.

Somehow, in my own idealistic mind, I would like to see a headphone amp that is wired into the electric socket. For my computer, I would plug the soundcard cord into this amp, and also with each cord, from my other devices, as I used them. Seemingly, no such luck, so far, in finding such an amp.
I either find a computer-driven USB amp or a battery-driven portable amp.

I never want to turn on my computer just to listen to my iPad!

Batteries? I do not want to change batteries every few days either if that is the case with a battery-operated amp. Batteries would work if I only need to change the batteries once in a while and this battery amp is of good quality.

could someone recommend a good headphone amp for me?

thank you,

You can pick up a headphone amp from schiit audio for 99 bucks, one from monoprice.com for a bit less. The schiit would be a better buy.

Supercharged Song Towers, Oppo BDP-203, Anthem MRX-520, LG B6 OLED
Headphone Rig: Oppo BDP-95, Burson Audio Soloist MKII Headphone amp/ Sennheiser HD800S, Sennheiser HD650

I use a Schiit Magni 3 at my desk at home. For $99, it's a great headphone amp.

If you want to spend a total of $200, you could also get a $99 Schiit Modi DAC.

For a combined DAC/amp, look at their Fulla or Hel products.

The JDS Atom tests very well and is only $99 - I think it may worth looking into. The THX amps made by Monoprice and Massdrop are also great amps.
