We've been here before.
Either playing an on disk iTunes Atmos stream uses a private API, iTunes is an HLS server or Firecore is misdirecting.
However the deeper (less literal?) point is Firecore's argument is meaningless. All
content rendered by a disk-less ATV has to be delivered by a server and requires a "client". That's not particularly limiting (or interesting).
Is Firecore saying?
- Playing from a network filesystem requires using a private API or
- We don't feel like providing an http server with our product or providing an extension so your existing http server that can create HLS (M3U playlists) or
- Something else.
I might type 2K for 1080p.
