I honestly wish I had something to hide (my life would certainly be more interesting), but I really don't. I can understand if someone has small children to protect, but as long as Google doesn't sell my social security number on the dark web, I don't have any issue with them knowing my viewing and browsing habits. I'd rather see targeted ads and show recommendations than be spammed with content that has little to do with my personal interests and tastes.

Nobody else offers ESPN, NFL, NHL, MLB, NBA, NBCSN, Fox Regionals and all locals except Vue. They're the best for live pro sports. Period. Hopefully someone will step up between now and the end of Jan. Otherwise it's back to cable

I really didn’t mean to derail this into a privacy thread. I should have just stated google isn’t an option for me. I have nothing to hide either...It’s a personal choice. All I can suggest is do some research.

I’ve been pretty happy w the quality of Hulu. The menus are god awful though. Now angry Hulu subs can attack me on that.

I think Vue got caught in the discount wars and wouldn't play that game. With most products there are different levels of what you can buy, and Vue was more of a premium product, you pay more for it but it has great sport package. To any one who really loved their Vue you have my sympathy.

I don't mind them for VOD, but if you were trying to record something and find it easily I can see where it would drive people crazy.

FYI this doesn't work for users that just did a 5 day trial, and then the next day this deal came out. Ask me how I know.

I know I can use any account, but I'm going to go with YTTV, I just wanted an extra free 2 weeks. So I don't want to have to redo all my shows after the 2 weeks.

Got it. If you’re going with it anyway no need.

Post your transition experience if you would. I'll be switching to YTTV after my free month of PSVue (January 2020) and would like a heads up on what to expect. Thanks.

I cancelled auto-renew on PSV when I received the email about it's death. Subscribed to YTTV (I'd already gone through the trial subscription a long time ago...). Overall I find the experience and quality very similar. I think I preferred the UI on PSV as it approximated a typical cable/satellite provider UI, but after an acclimation period the YTTV UI is fine. The picture quality is excellent, I think. Channel selections are more than adequate, with all our locals. DVR functionality is just fine, though I did experience one glitch where a supposedly new recording was actually another recording of an identical episode....weird.

I love it. It was a very smooth move and YTTV loads and run faster and smoother than Vue. The only reason I went with Vue initially was that 1) it didn’t quite have all my channels two years ago and 2) it wasn’t on fire Tv. Now both have been fixed.

Only thing I miss from Vue is the NEW flag and the fact that any recording bumps the program to the front of the list, even repeats.

Does YTTV have similar functionality in the UI on streaming devices? That is what is important for me, not the phone/mobile UI.

I’ve been using YTTV for about a year now. My transition was PS Vue (1Y) to DTVN (to get the free ATV4K) 18 months and now YT. So far YTTV is my favorite. I miss the last channel recall button but that’s it.

No quick and easy way to get back to the previous channel? That is something they really need to add.

Most use the “Top Picks” panel at the top of “Home” for that. It remembers the recent channels you’ve been to but it’s not as good as a last channel and it’s not programmable to a remote. Hopefully they will add what PS Vue had someday.

More than last channel, going from PS Vue to YouTube TV, I miss a button that takes you directly from anywhere in the menus to live TV. There are way too many button presses to get back if you're drilling deep into information screens about a specific show. There's even an unused button on the Roku remote that would be perfect for it.

Fox Channel Audio

The Fox channel feed for football has horrible audio, at least on PSVue. It is literally 10db softer than any other channel. This looks to be a PSVue issue. I have been testing YTTV as I'll be moving there once PSVue shuts down. The football games on Fox do not have the same sound/low volume issue on YTTV. I went back and forth between watching the game on Fox using PSVue and YTTV. The game playing on PSVue was clearly much lower volume than other channels. On YTTV the volume was the same as the other channels.
