The torrent client will work the issue was coming in if you have a fast connection and run torrents 24/7 there is a small mem leak that would eventually freeze the box and you would need to restart it.
Thank you very much for your fast reply. How is support? I see that last firmware is from April. Is the memory leak in torrent service being currently studied?

Pic should be stable and not jittery on the VTEN. Something is wrong if it is.

I've tried to play 4k HDR files (HEVC) and they played perfectly fine, but the colors didn't look right because the SOC is not capable of HDR and the BT.2020 colorspace. I've seen that it can't really handle 4k x264 though so that might be what your problem is.

I'm hoping there will be a new Sigma chip and new PCH device soon though

No support has not ended! Can't say anything about torrents because, I have no idea.

By the way, discussion of torrents is frowned upon at AVS so you should probably take these questions over to the PCH forums.

There are about 10-20 out in the wild. It looks like there may be software out there that can do this (Not Redfox or DVDFab currently).

Cheers

Same here but it just does not look like 4k. What’s the best 4k rip for video quality?

I heard that Planet Earth 2 has awesome PQ quality. Sadly, most UHD BDs are upscaled from a 2K DI. Sure you get WCG along HDR, but they lack detail.

The washed out colours are likely due to lack of HDR processing.

Yes, plus the fact that the decoder is unable to decode the BT.2020/DCI-P3 colorspace correctly.

Is cloud media making a proper 4k player? I don’t like the zidoo or zappiti.

If by proper you mean using Sigma chipset the answer is currently no. Sigma has not released a 4k chipset and looks like they are not going to. CM has a box coming out based on a rockchip SoC so it will run Kodi or rockchips kodi clone.

Is that the sub $50 box they sell that handles 4k60P and HDR(HDR10 and HLG)? I see it on their website.

Sorry to wake this thread back up, but does anyone happen to know the connector size on the wall-wart that plugs into the Vten?

Angry

Have to admit really disappointed with this player. Replaced the external had drive but still get stalling most evenings when watching TV shows. they ain't large files, normally 1-4GB max. Can see myself replacing it soon. Hate it. Don'#t have any trust in it.
Had the TVIx box for years with no issues, this requires nightly rebooting.

My VTEN still works great. It even has zero issues playing back high bitrate BD ISOs or MKVs over the network connection.

My TV show recordings also have no issues playing back on my VTEN from the network.

I got mine soon after launch and it still a very solid media player in my use.

I've used mine from a USB drive as well. And it works fine too. I have a 256GB USB 3.0 flash drive that I use sometimes with my UHD devices. Although that is not the norm for me in my use of the VTEN.

I also use mine via NAS and attached USB drives and have absolutely no issues...very solid player, IMO!
