What is the solution. Is it possible to move the database or change the path where it save all data without loosing and data? I have a free 3 TB drive I could use on me pc. I could also use my new synology nas for this.
I got 1500+ movie + a lot of series and all of them I have done some manuel job with to get it really nice.

Would be sad if I had to scrape all over again.
No worries, I did the same thing. Contacted Zappiti prior and they confirmed there was no problem. I changed locations and everything was there the way I had saved/scraped it.

Funny, they said to me it was not possible. Maybe I got the wrong tech man in the other end.

How did you do it?

As i said, I just added / changed locations and everything was there the way I had saved it. The only thing that changed was the order of the recently added movies.

If it identifying it as something else then delete from Zappiti and try again.

You were correct. It was my mistake. I put Cosmos folder in the Movie folder.

When I found out, I moved it to "Series" folder. I still had to remove the episodes and reinstall them in the folder but finally Zappiti was able to identify them.

Thanks again

Greetings..I'm about to pull the trigger on a Zappiti Duo HDR. I have a couple of questions.
I presently store my foreign movies separately from my 'hollywood' movies on my hard drive. Can I have multiple 'Movies' Directories on the Zappiti internal hd or would I need to have just one "Movies' Directory per Hard Drive? Hence, going with the Duo.
I also have some mkv files with imbedded subtitles. Will Zappiti display the subs?
Thanks, Ron

You can create different collections pointing at different locations on your drives. Subtitles are no problem, just forced subs work only with iso.

Thanks for getting back to me. I am aware of the collections feature but like to maintain a separate directory for the foreign films. I guess what I'm asking is can I have multiple Movie directories on one drive, ie: Movies 1, Movies 2 etc. or perhaps one labeled 'Movies' and another labeled 'films'? If so I would opt for the One SE HDR rather then the Duo HDR.
The way I read it is that the only way around this is to store the 'Hollywood' movies on one internal drive in a folder labeled, 'Movies' and store the foreign Films on the second internal drive in a folder also labeled 'Movies". I could then add the Foreign films to a collection tagged " Foreign Films". Sure wish the Pro HDR wasn't so pricey!

thanks again

Yes you can have multiple movie folders on the same drive as long as they are named differently: movies1, movies2, foreign, etc... You can call them what you want as long as you identify them as movie folders in the software.

All the posters will appear in the same video wall unless you setup different collections,

7.1 Yamaha RX-A3080, Monitor Audio (Apex & Silver), Seismic 110, XBOX, Cambridge Audio CXUHD, Roku SS+, Panasonic TX65GZ950B
5.1 Denon X7200WA, Focal Dome, XBONE, LG OLED E7V
In both Setups Virgin Tivo V6, Firestick 4K, Zappiti 4K HDR, Harmony Elite

As I said, different locations meant different folders. Just add them under configurations.

Does Zappiti 4K Mini HDR support 25Hz framerate? (I guess it doesn't)

A lot of european films and especially tv-series uses 25Hz, and just gives black screen with the Zappitti.

Any idea for a workaround?

Zappiti is made in France (Europe), It is funny if it doesn't.

Their website shows from this firmware and up, it does it manually:
Firmware Zappiti 4K HDR OS 3.06 (2017.04.18)

> Download: Zappiti Mini 4K HDR Firmware version OS 3.06... (.zip)
> Download: Zappiti One / Duo 4K HDR Firmware version OS 3.06... (.zip)

Changes since the previous version:
  • Added automatic Zappiti 4K HDR recognition on the network from a Mac or PC. It is no longer necessary to manually add the IP address of Zappiti.
  • Hard disks that are initialized in MAC OS partition are now supported in read / write mode.
  • NTFS GPT hard disks in multiple partitions are now supported.
  • Fixed the "Automatically notify me when a firmware update is available" function that did not work properly.
  • The external subtitle is selected by default if available (excepted if “Default subtitles” is set as “OFF” in the Advanced settings).
  • By default, the focus is now placed on the "Resume Play" button in the resume playback window.
  • Added the following manual video outputs options:
    > 720p @ 59.94 Hz in addition to 720p @ 60 Hz
    > 1080i @ 59.94 Hz in addition to 1080i @ 60 Hz
    > 1080p @ 25 Hz
    > 1080p @ 30 Hz
    > 3849x2160 @ 59.94 Hz in addition to 3849x2160 @ 60 Hz
    > 4096x2160p @ 25 Hz
  • Improved French translation.

Yes, and 25Hz is a part of the Blu-ray standard.

I am on firmware 3.13, and the options looks like this:

Set TV System:

1080P @ 60Hz
3840x2160P @ 24Hz
3840x2160P @ 25Hz
3840x2160P @ 30Hz
3840x2160P @ 50Hz
3840x2160P @ 60Hz

4096x2160P @ 24Hz
4096x2160P @ 25Hz
4096x2160P @ 30Hz
4096x2160P @ 50Hz
4096x2160P @ 60Hz

My TV is not 4K (European Panasonic 50Hz PAL), can only use the first option, and i can't find any "Auto" option.

These options are only the GUI. Enable sync refresh rate (can't remember where it is) and test 25hz material again.

What do you mean by "gives black screen". What did you do and what settings did you use?

Thanks, your advice fixed the issue!, i found the option under MY APPS >Service >Direct Output > Direct Output mode: ON

All resolutions set to: ON

By black screen i mean that there is audio, but no video signal, and i got it before when i used anything other than [email protected] (for the UI) which is logical.
And when playing 25Hz material, which now works with the Direct Output option ON, but why i don't understand, the TV switches to [email protected]
But when Direct Output is OFF, Zappiti should just scale the video to something the tv can handle, right?

I set up Zappiti to perform Direct Output and put on a video copied uncompressed from a standard def dvd. The image was not as clear as it was using the normal Zappiti processing. I'll try something more robust and post a follow-up.

The benefit is to get a « raw » signal without any processing and let your tv do the upscale.
Most of the mid/high end 4k tvs upscale better than the Zappiti.

The Zappiti doesn't display forced subs in ISO. I tried it several times without much help... I messaged them to see if there will ever be a fix, and they are not sure.

Glad the subtitles are turned to off now when playing a file.

I really hope they can get forced subtitles to work properly. As of now I have to do MKV files with forced subtitles boxes checked & then play the MKV files back with subtitles always on in order to see the forced subtitles.

I also above all other things would love to have HDR metadata passed through to my LG G6 OLED correctly. That’s the main reason I rarely use my player. MAXCLL & MAXFALL is not being sent correctly to my OLED display so HDR is not being shown correctly.

I think that the HDR metadata problem is with the chipset not the software. If anyone knows anything differently please let me know. From what I have read the 1296 chip will do it but not the 1295.

Zappiti restore update method is very very risky . It freezes up and bricks with no user mistake . I lost one 4kHDRone to this method .

I just came across this device when searching for the best option for my new 5040 PJ setup.. this thing seems too good to be true.

HDR-SDR tone mapping (black box)
Network streaming mkv support
Audio bitstream support

A remote? Nice.
Wired LAN? Nice.
Sub $300 price? Nice.
Side loading apps with native google play support? Nice

I feel like this is a no-brainer if you're not looking for shield steam support, can live without it's ai upscaling, and aren't interested in going down the MadVR rat hole chasing after the elusive "perfect" tone-map.

Am I missing something?

Depends on your needs. I had this before the Shield, and now I never use this (I only still have it for 3D movies).
The tone mapping is meh, but if you don't have a HDR display, I'm not sure what you can really expect. It still requires additional settings on your tv and some title specific adjustment.
If you have a display that relies on metadata (when present and accurate), then the Zappiti won't help since it doesn't provide that information to the display (this was the first reason I got the Shield).
Forced subtitles - not on mkv (and often not on menu/iso either).

The Shield is cheaper and offers more unless you need 3D IMO.

The Hodor Theater - Now with Atmos
Projector - JVC D-ILA NX7; Receiver - Yamaha Adventage A3050
LCR speakers - JTR Noesis 228 HT (3); Surr./Back - Klipsch Pro Cinema KPT-8000M (4)
Atmos In-ceiling - Niles DS8HD (4); Subs - Passive JTR Captivator Pro (2)

Does the shield do HDR->SDR? I have an open question elsewhere on this but can't seem to find a definitive answer..
