I'd also recommend considering getting one of the inexpensive Logitech Bluetooth keyboards if you need to do much alphanumeric input i.e. for userid/password entry for apps & services. The one I got is the K380 which lets you pair to 3 different devices and has 3 keys on the top left to instantly switch between them. I have mine paired to the ATV 4K and a Fire TV. (I also have a Roku Ultra just to keep my toe in all the different mainstream streamers, lol, but it doesn't use Bluetooth so won't work.)
I have several like that. But I think mine is an older version since I got them on sale at a much lower price. Or they were a different manufacturer. But I got them because of the ability to link to three devices. Although I rarely use them. Since with most devices, once you enter your email address and password, you don't need to enter it again.

Question

Since this thread was first posted, has there been any additional compatible hardware devices added that support Atmos on Netflix?

Googling "Netflix Atmos" brings you right to the Netflix page which lists the compatible devices ... I searched and checked expecting there to be no changes, but was amazed to find there has been -

Quote:
The following devices support Dolby Atmos with Netflix:

Apple TV 4K (requires tvOS 12 or later)

LG OLED TVs (2017 or newer models)

Sony BRAVIA Android TVs (2018 models)

Windows 10 app (requires Windows 10 RS3 Build 16299 or later)

Xbox One, Xbox One S, and Xbox One X

I'm still happy with my One X purchase ... I didn't realize how much I missed console gaming, or how much more awesome gaming with a 75" HDR 4K screen and Neural:X (or the rare native Atmos) sound is over a 27" 4K PC

. I did a google search prior to posting. I worded my search differently and did NOT get the same results as you. Thank you for finding the list.

Assuming Netflix doesn’t change the link, this like might be useful to other to check down the road to see if they add any additional devices.

Members in the Apple TV 4K thread have started reporting Atmos with Netflix there as well. The new TVOS is supposed to drop Monday activating it for all users.

That will be nice. I would much rather use my ATV 4k for Netflix than my XB1X. But I would also rather use other devices over my ATV 4K for Netflix too. But my XB1X and PS4 Pro are the last devices I want to use for Netflix since the implementation is so bad.

I’m not seeing that. I’ve been in the beta since it dropped and while people are reporting atmos on Netflix and amazon I’m not getting that on my end.
I do get atmos on iTunes movies via movies anywhere and vudu.

Streaming Devices: Nvidia Shield, 2x Roku 3's, 1st/2nd gen chromecast, ATV4k, Apple TV 4, xbox 360/one

Take a look at post 1519 here https://www.avsforum.com/forum/39-ne...leases-51.html

I don’t have an ATV 4K to check myself but I am just posting what others have reported. Maybe you should check with the guys in that thread as to how to get it.

There’s nothing you can do to get it. Netflix enables it or they don’t. Some people are reporting it working but most are not getting it. Perhaps it’s just a staggard rollout.

For what it's worth, I had to delete the Netflix app and reinstall it to get Atmos. Even then, "Lost in Space" originally didn't show Atmos in the description, but it actually played in Atmos (for the first time). Now I'm noticing that more and more titles have Atmos in the description as well. It looks like it's trickling out.

Hey you were right! I did what you said and the results were exactly as you described. I just finished iron fist and started it up again, now with atmos, big difference! Doesn’t appear to be a lot of content with atmos but the newer stuff seems to have it.

I did the same with the amazon app and no change. No atmos there.

I'm still wishing it would make it to Shield TV and/or Roku sometime soon. I'm currently left choosing between 4K from Shield TV or ATMOS from XBox One... I can't bring myself to add/upgrade/replace another component just to get ATMOS from Netflix, and I find myself choosing 4K over ATMOS (or out of convenience of the Shield already being on anyway) for most content anyway.

Suggestions for Dolby Vision? Get a different client device... it's not supported on the Roku Ultra or any of their stand-alone boxes/sticks, only on Dolby Vision 4K Roku TVs.

Pretty late here, but the lack of exclusive games makes the XB1 a no go for me. It has a total of 4 or 5 retail exclusives MAX and not a single one since 2015. When nearly everything for the XB1 is also available for Windows, 4K PC to 75" TV via HDMI completely blows the XB1 out of the water by miles and miles and miles and miles and................

I'm all for improved quality, but it seems like expanding device support should be a far greater priority.

Netflix just added Roku TV to its list of supported Atmos supported devices. I havent got it running on my TCL tv yet. Maybe needs a firmware update.

Someone in the TCL 6 series thread said they contacted TCL and the Tech had it working. But none of us there have it working yet.

I just bought an ultra high speed (2.1) HDMI cable to see if bandwidth is the issue (I doubt it though. My reciever says its reading Dolby Digital Plus from the TCL) I will report back after testing it.

Atmos does work from the Vudu and Amazon apps on the TCL 6 series. So you can always check from those apps to see if Atmos is working over the ARC.

Exclusive as in games only on PS4. Like:

God of War
Spiderman
Horizon Zero Dawn
Days Gone
Bloodborne
The Last of Us
Etc.

And the games only look better on the Xbox One X and then only marginally better. Not worth it for the cost IMO.

Plus nearly every XB1 game is also available on Windows, so the looks better than PS4 point becomes moot because "looks better on Windows".

I am planning to get Apple 4K TV just to get Atmos on both Amazon and Netflix.

My question. Is Atmos on Netflix noticeably better than its regular DD+. Also its its top tier plan audio quality, in both Atmos and just DD+, noticeably better than regular DD+?

I have a 5.1.4 setup with good height placement. I value audio quality and prefer blu-ray discs when available. So when it comes to streaming, if Netflix and Amazon Atmos is noticeably better than normal streaming audio, I do want it, but if it is just marginally better, or worse, not any difference, I would rather stick with my TV and UHD player for Amazon and Netflix streaming.

Audio quality with a streaming is an oxymoron. Netflix did recently increase the bitrate of their DD+ audio. So it is better than it used to be, But I would not call it quality audio. For that you need a UHD BD. FOr 99% of the people, the audio quality from Netflix if perfectly fine. Personally I have no problem with it. But it doesn't come anywhere close to the lossless audio on a Blu-ray Disc.

Do you know if you can get the higher bitrate, Netflix is offering, on any device or does it take the same ones that Netflix Atmos require?
