Just read about this. Seems like a good deal as long as the price doesn't jump up a lot over the next year or two. Luckily we own 3 Roku TV's so this will integrate nicely in our house.

As soon as this gets an Apple TV app, I'm signing up.

I set Mythbusters Jr. as a "Saved" show at the beginning of the season. When I went to watch some episodes last week, only the most recent was available. Seems earlier episodes were lost. Am I missing something (apart from the episodes)?

Try go the Discovery Go app and check there, you should be able to use your Philo credentials to get in. Sometimes things in the cloud go wonky so it's worth checking other methods. I just checked Direct TV Now and all the episodes where there. There is probably a glitch on Philo's end.

Good idea. I've since learned the recorded episodes go away if you don't watch them in 30 days. Seems a little quick for me.

Actually, it is. I have it on my Fire Tv sticks. Has a better guide than on the Roku.

That's how these "unlimited cloud DVRs" tend to work. Philo gives you 30 days. PS Vue gives you 28. But YTTV gives you 9 months. Other services limit the number of hours you can record and charge extra for a decent number of hours.

Here's the Philo FAQ on this: https://help.philo.com/hc/en-us/arti...ved-shows-DVR-

Philo works out really good for me. I find it loads quickly on my Apple TV and other than maybe some news channels it is a perfect lineup of channels. I have actually enjoyed BBC America news on there though it's pretty good. All the squabbling on CNN, Fox and MSNBC I don't miss. I will have to probably add sling during college football season, but that will only be for a few months. I canceled DirecTV Now with this last price increase.

Good price and decent channel selection. I also appreciated that you could enter your phone number instead of a debit/credit card for the free trial.

I'm trying to provide my payment information to Philo which will be needed after my 7 day trial period ends in 5 more days. However, the Philo webpage is assuming I want to make an initial payment to cover 6 months of service in order to take advantage of the 4K Fire TV Stick. I don't want the 4K Fire TV Stick and want to make monthly payments for now -- not an initial 6 month payment.

The webpage is not providing me a way to specify an option for monthly payments.

Anyone run into this?

Question for Philo users watching series on Science Channel. I don't know if other TV services have an issue with discovery science channel shows not discerning new from old and recording a 3 hour segment and calling it a first run show but this is very old with DirecTV. I complain and yet get the same 2 and 3 hour shows recorded over and over as new first run shows. I can't watch that because I forget what I've seen before. Seems new, then a rerun. Waste of time.

And it's also getting old managing DVR space. I'm deleting hundreds of hours of recordings and not even watching them. They're no longer labeled season and episode on my HR54. Also tired of complaining about that and nothing gets done.

Does Philo do any better than DirecTV guide and recording info?

Another question regarding recordings and on-demand. From the attachment screenshot, do items 2 and 3 pertain only to VOD or does it vary by channel?

If it varies by channel, anyone know how this impacts science channel and history channel?

Good afternoon, I live in Brazil, I'm looking for an average center that plays blu ray ISO or BDMV, but I can navigate perfectly in the menus like a physical blu ray, I'm in doubt on some models, you can suggest me what are the more efficient for what I'm looking for? For example between ZAPPITI, ZIDOO, DUNE, EGREAT and CHINOOPO which is the best or the models I can buy without fear that will suit me in what I need, I will probably put sata internal hd 5t and play everything on the internal hd. a hug
