Well then this player is off the list. I'm honestly stunned that this player suffers from frame stutters. Even the Zidoo fixed that. And it was said a long time ago that the DVD player was only temporary until they provide their own custom player software. Shame that DVD support is non-functional. I had high hopes for finally buying a dune but this player was a disappointment at launch and even now sounds unusable for my usage.

Have you used it? Have you tried? You just talking into the air! DVD? I don't understand! I would die if I had to watch DVD quality in a 4K TV. Because it's disaster. The frame stutters in turn are almost invisible! I use my 4K Pro more than one year, and this is a very good player! They will improve everything later, i'm sure.

Agreed on the stutter, it's invisible for me.

I don't realize any stutter either.
I'm playing mostly "MKV" files, and they're running as smooth as on my older Dunes with Sigma Chips.

Using DnSpy I decompiled the executable and then simply changed descriptors for codecs I will never use for ones that I wanted - can't specifically remember which ones I changed as it was a while ago, but as an example, "Vorbis" changed for "Atmos" etc...

Same with video and resolutions.

Then allocated modified graphics in the skin to apply to those codecs.

Since it still uses an old version of MediaInfo it doesn't automatically apply them but it's just nice to select the correct codec etc from drop down boxes.

For the HDR logo, I just used the certification box and that only requires changing the certification entry in the language file to read "HDR" and again allocating graphics - certification is something that never worked for me and I'm not bothered about.

I have no idea how to do that.. I tried opening the installed yadis.exe not the install program exe and tried searching for the descriptor, but found nothing like vorbis or divx or anything, also there is no decompile option only a debug as far as i can see.. I know how to modify the skins, but not the yadis exe.. I am also tired of having to remember which desciptor i assigned to atmos or dtsx and so on

I'd love to share the modified exe, but it's not mine to share - yaDIS, although freeware, was never released open source so although I see no issue modifying for my own use, I can't release what does not belong to me.

I see.. Any chance you could do a little tutorial then how to edit our own,if you have the time and inclination ofcourse? Do i open the install exe or the program exe in dnspy? Where are the descriptors located, and how do i modify and save the new wording? Is yadis c# or one of the other 2 languages it can edit?
Would one also be able to update the API for TMDB and TVDB if needed this way?

As a pointer:

Install another instance of yaDIS to mess with (just in case).

Download and install dnSpy (https://github.com/0xd4d/dnSpy/releases)

Run it and open yadis.exe with it.

Goto "MainForm" in <yaDIS/yaDIS.exe/yaDIS>

Search for "Vorbis" in the code (ctrl F)

Right click in the code where you find "Vorbis" and chose "edit IL instructions"

Change "Vorbis" for "Atmos"

Hit "ok"

File "Save All" and confirm.

You sir are a prince among men :-).. Thank you.. Never too old to learn..

Do you know how to add an entry to the dropdown menus?

Now i can also add my bonus material in a proper fashion.. I have made a special case for bonus features,as well as a category so i can distinguish the bonus/extra material from the movie in the video wall.. Works very nice now.. I can chose Bonus features now in yadis/media/case.

You're very welcome, and yes indeed, most definitely never too old to learn.

I've not tried adding to the menus - I have re-ordered them, but adding would be more than a quick and dirty hack like this.

Ah,ok. Well i just need one more case,i guess i can re-appropriate the "default" case,i aint adding too many HDTV these days anyways.. Now i just need a firmware fix for the stupid rewind/FF bug and a time search in full bd mode, and this player will be as perfect as it can get for my use. And after i got a blutooth remote for it that works i just love this player,so much so im thinking about buying a + just to have as backup as i doubt many more of these players will be made going forward.

It would be nice if you could adjust the audio sync as well!

I have the Dune HD Pro 4K Plus and was disappointed to find that the audio sync adjustment wasn't there. Since the online manual said that it should have worked, I emailed Dune support and they replied as follows:

"The information stated on the website, in this case, refers to outdated models of the Sigma base. Current models, on the Android platform, do not support this feature. We apologize. We will correct the inaccuracy shortly."

Log into the Dune router interface at http://Dune_IP_Address:8080 and change the "Hostname" in <system\system>

Red face

Hi,

I just tried to buy one of them for a friend. They are sold out everywhere...
Is there an equal (or even better!) player which supports Bluray menus, plays DVDs and Blurays in .iso format and supports them in 3D?
Thank you kindly.

Cheers
