And I have also been creating 2k MKVs from many of those 2k BD ISOs, so I can watch them using Plex. Which is on my 2K Plex PC.

And most of them I won't watch. I've even purchased or rented digital versions of many movies or shows, because I forgot that I had them on my unRAIDs. Which is extremely frustrating. And seems insane.

My insanity doesn't reach you guys levels as I make sure I maintain about a 85-90% watch ratio of my media collection. Not bad considering it's over 3,000 movies & TV series. No kids and vacationing at home makes for some lazy weekends and nights!

If you put it in the cloud, maybe you can watch it from up there.

You can eliminate having to uncheck all the "subtitle" check boxes, if you don't want subtitles, by going to "preferences", "language", choosing "English" or your preferred subtitle and only the "English" subtitle is checked.
I discovered this on Season 8...sigh...after unchecking box after box, sometimes 9 or 10 different language subtitles per episode with 24 episodes per season...at least the last 3 went much faster.

You can right click any of the checkboxes and deselect all and then just select the boxes you want... It's a lot easier that way...

It's easier selecting the language in the preference. As Kai Winters mentioned. I changed mine in the settings yesterday. It's so much nicer to already have the english options already checked. I can't believe i went this long without knowing about that option.

Or was that a more recent edition? That was one of the reasons I liked using Clone BD, since it automatically selected the language and CC options I wanted.

Sometimes it is possible to delete some files within the 'STREAM' folder. I have done this with a few 'full disc' back-ups.

What I do is create a 'TEMP' folder within the 'BDMV' folder and move the files I'm thinking of deleting in their first. Then I play the movie to see if it still works. The idea is to remove files 'one at a time' until you find the bear minimum you need in the 'STREAM' folder. After which you can delete the 'TEMP' folder...

Thanks, sounds like a plan but not sure it's worth all the extra effort when I don't really see that much difference between HDR10 and Dolby Vision. I'll have to think about this. Meanwhile, I did rip "The Witch" movie which contains Dolby Vision as a "backup" and will test this one for Dolby Vision soon on the Oppo 203.

My drive the Asus BC-12D2HT was quite happily ripping UHD until a few weeks ago. Now it will only do Blu-ray and DVD. Somebody on the MakeMKV forum suggested it might be due to problems with downloading configuration files.

Similar has been reported elsewhere but wanted to check on here if others are experiencing this sudden lose of UHD functionality.

My sanity is being tested to the max..................

My storage devices are getting close to being maxed out........ Black Friday and cyber Monday, is fast approaching............. Do I or Don't I??

I have, and continue to record TV and old Movies (30's, 40', 50's and 60's), **shows and movies that i will never live long enough to watch**.

I am the only one in my household that watches them, and when I die, they will be tossed......... I guess it is at a point now, that recording those OLD TV shows is an obsession.......... or an addiction........ Of course it is only occasionally that even I watch some of these recordings that I have saved onto my storage devices.

Granddaughter says to **delete**, **delete**, **delete**. What should I do, purchase more storage during Black Friday or Cyber Monday, or stop recording **stuff** that I most likely will never watch.

I can't bring myself to delete the **stuff** that I have already recorded, not sure I could stop recording that **stuff* either......

Any advice?? I am attaching some pics to show a sampling of what I record........

I love the ease and choices of having my shows/movies/etc stored on a hard drive.
I mainly use it for my collection of old B&W shows and movies and quite a few modern TV series ie Firefly, BB Theory, etc.
It is especially easy and far more convenient to just click on a folder and choose an episode or start from the beginning and watch an entire series commercial free.
I recently bought a Zidoo Z9S media player because I didn't like the GUI's or limitations of any of my HT devices handling of either a hdd or usb drive. I now have 2 (9Tb total) WD portable hdd's connected to it as well as 2 usb flash drives. All my shows, movies, music, etc. are in one place with a nice GUI. It wasn't expensive and well worth the cost.

MakeMKV is a great program and I use it often. I don't use it for my premium movies as I don't mind taking the time to pop a disk into the player. MakeMKV paired with my Z9S is a wonderful way to store and watch shows.

TV: Sony XBR 65X950G, AVR: Marantz SR5011, Speakers: front/Paradigm Prestige 15B bookshelf, center/Paradigm Prestige 45C, surround/Paradigm Atom, sub/SVS SB3000, DVD: LG UBK 90 UHD DVD Player, Media Player: Zidoo Z9S, Remote: Logitech Harmony Ultimate Home

MakeMKV keep getting "Fatal error occurred, program will now exit.......... I uninstalled it and re-installed it, but no luck........

It rips the video, but I get that message after it scrapes the information,, and shows all the files. I get the error, even when I don't have a disk in the drive, and I select preferences.........

Any suggestions??

Edit: Problem solved. Not really sure how I solved this issue, but I kept uninstalling, re-installing several times. I uninstalled using the "uninstall" function from the Windows Control panel, several times, but still did not help. I even ran CCleaner after each uninstall, but that did not help either. Finally, I just deleted the MakeMKV folder from the "C" drive, which is the last drive I installed on. I also deleted the ".MakeMKV" under C > users.

It finally started to work. no idea what I did to get it to work.......... Been awhile since I had used the MakeMKV app, so not sure what caused it to stop working.......

Buy an internal and put in an enclosure. That is what many of us have done.

They draw to much power. I'm not aware of a USB powered drive. They need an external power supply.

For me, I bought several internal drives and put them in USB 3.0 enclosures.

I see MakeMKV is supposed to be working with AACS 2.1 titles now. With version 1.14.6.

I'm going to try it out with my last AACS 2.1 UHD BD title I purchased. Zombieland.

It worked!!
I'm watching the UHD MKV of Zombieland on my Shield TV right now. It's playing back with no issues.

Now I'll need to rip my Fury and The Patriot UHD BDs that also have AACS 2.1.
