When I went to download the general the popup on the apple tv said 16K6045 after downloading it shows 16K45. When turning beta updates back on it wants to again download Beta 4. In any event sorry for the misinformation in the future I'll wait until after downloading.

Happens on lots of material which is native 24.000 fps, like on Netflix with Outlaw King, Bright etc. There are many others.
Have you submitted the issue to Apple?
I opened a thread about this problem over here but people don’t understand and/or don’t care about it. Doesn’t help, that not much content is out there at that specific framerate.

If [Stereo] is set for Audio will it decrease the audio quality for iTunes Movies?

I thought [Stereo] was LPCM, so no loss in quality and bit rate. Is this correct.
However, According to the Menu Screen for Audio it indicates ‘reduces audio quality"

Doesn't seem to be any better or worse. I always DL the betas right away in case they fix a problem I have between my ATV4K and PJ. Usually, it's no big difference in use-ability.

New features are often in new versions instead of point releases.

I think the stereo audio must be made from the existing multi channel track. I don't expect that would reduce quality aside from the loss of channels.

Hi

Any of you beta users know the status of the Netflix app on Apple TV 4K and its desire to "present" Atmos for all movies, whatever they are in Atmos or not? E.g. my AV8805 shows "Atmos" for everything (Except menu screens) that Netflix app outputs. iTunes play corrent in Atmos and 5.1 depending on the movie.

It is nice to have Atmos, but it is frustrating, not being able to trust the output.

There’s a problem with your setup. Mine doesn’t do that. There’s only atmos when the movie has atmos. And not when it doesn’t.

Streaming Devices: Nvidia Shield, 2x Roku 3's, 1st/2nd gen chromecast, ATV4k, Apple TV 4, xbox 360/one
Displays: Vizio M602i-B3, LG OLED65B6, panasonic ax100u on a 145" S-I-L-V-E-R painted screen, 40" Samsung
Receivers: Denon X3300, Yamaha RX-V663. Bluray/UHD player: Oppo UDP-203

Any idea what it could be? The problem is only with the Netflix app on Apple TV 4K. iTunes correctly displays, DD and Atmos on my Marantz, so I am sure it is not the basic config of the Apple TV. I see no setting on the Netflix app

My Soundbar only supports Dolby Digital, DTS and LPCM. No Dolby Digital + and no Atmos. Should I just connect my Apple TV4K directly to LG OLED55C7 based on this?

I currently connected it to Soundbar which has HDMI ARC.

Hmmm tempting.... I'm hosing a movie tonight using the ATV4K so maybe I shouldn't DL the FW ... and most likely I won't be able to tell any difference between this and any other beta recently so I guess it doesn't matter.

Then again... maybe they added something neat. Maybe they fixed a bug I've seen recently with certain DV titles. Or maybe bugs I know nothing about.

If you are already hosing a movie, can't make it any worse with a new beta.

Sorry,

That wasn't my first typo today. I did install the beta and couldn't find anything different about it.

(Forgot to check the movies that acted up recently but I have tonights movie all setup now and I don't want to jinx it.)

Hope my guest gets here soon the movie is long and he snores.

My Apple TV 4K is noticeably faster with this beta. Everything loads and unloads way faster.

Installed fine here.

Seemed to improve something ... can't say exactly what... Maybe more responsive in the menus and/or smoother motion in playback. Of course, I have no idea what goes into the beta versions so It's more than likely my imagination.

I was watching the original Transformers 4K (currently on sale) and then remembered to do the update and things seemed better. I think it's imagination but I never mind the placebo effect.

I have installed every beta so far, and rarely, if ever, have seen any differences in PQ quality or responsiveness.

I really hope there isn’t any smoother motion during playback. I wouldn’t want to be deviating from the current native framerate.

Most likely it was my imagination. I never notice any difference usually with FW update.

Could be that the scene I was watching before and after was filmed differently.

Good news is the new FW hasn't been problematic.

I recently had some trouble with some DV movies (Conan, Hunger Games) where the screen would go full Blue or Green and that problem seems gone.

As reported in various places 12.3b1 (16M5117f) has the new TV app. Just a marginal improvement so far.

I might type 2K for 1080p.

Yeah, I only briefly toyed with it and it is more of a UI update than anything else from what I can tell. It still tosses you over to the other apps when you select media, which is to be expected at this point until the service providers add support to play natively in the TV app.
