Thor Ragnarok Blu-Ray, e.g where the dragon is chasing and about to catch Thor near the start of the movie. There are other seamless branch points in that movie.
Can’t see it why it would be any better on the Z1000, Zidoo Just haven’t got a handle on this issue.

From my view point, Incredibles 2 is simply a problematic title, period. I've had problems with it even on a Dune HD Solo, Bluray full ISO and MKV. The only unit that has worked with out problems for me with that title has been an MKV on an Oppo.

However, after re-starting it as a full ISO several times on a Zidoo X9S it seems to work fine now.

Can it use files created by YADIS or ThumbGen for the movie wall (Mede8er and Dune support this) or does one need to use built-in scraper?

I've always been very dubious of internal scrapers - I like to do it all myself externally if possible. To the extent that I decompiled yaDis and added options for HEVC, Atmos, DTX-X, HDR, UHD-BD etc on the drop-down list boxes to bring it all up to date, but I have to say that the scraper on the Zidoo is the best I've seen and if it gets things wrong or you don't like the cover etc, it's very easy to amend.

That said, you can use Kodi nfo files for the metadata and artwork I you like (unfortunately not yaDis or Thumbgen) - so you can use a program such as Tiny Media Manager (https://www.tinymediamanager.org/download/) to create the nfo, poster and fanart and have the Zidoo use that rather than its own scrapes.

But as I say, I haven't felt the need; And I'm a fussy bugger!

Thank you. I'm similar. I got source code for ThumbGen and have been updating it. It can generate different kinds of files. One profile can create Mede8er files, another Dune files etc.

On a different note: Does the built-in scraper get details like MKV, 3D, 4K by itself (or using mediainfo behind the scenes) or do those features need to be indicated by explicitly naming the MKV file?

I have a stupid question. I have a concert in classic dvd structure. It will not play with menu or I do something wrong. it not shows on the video wall, as it is a concert. If I use th Vts files I have to do them one by one. But probably thee is a way around.

Bizarrely, although the box uses mediaInfo, it is not employed during the scrape for some reason. Once a file has been played however, those details populate.

This can also be invoked by naming as well - there are a few posts detaining this back in the thread, but I must admit I don't bother.

I've never used Thumbgen, but as you have the source, it might be a nice project to get it to export a Kodi nfo file, poster and fanart for the box...

Just a memory from the dim and distant past - doesn't Thumbgen export XBMC files? Maybe it already does it??

Might sound odd, but navigate to where the containing directory is - ie the one that has VIDEO_TS & AUDIO_TS inside it.

Highlight the containing folder, press menu and select <Open With> then <View Poster>. This should trigger a scrape and might or might not find the correct metadata, but whatever it finds, it should allow you then to play it by pressing <enter> as you would from HT2.

I've never tried playing a DVD though, so no idea whether it actually works!

Incredibles2 is not a problematic title.
The Z9s is a problematic player when it comes to handling seamless branching and Incredibles2 is an excellent test.

I take it " 1. Optimize the seamless playback of the meat sauce dish" is a translation issue!

I agree and have used quite a few over the year. The one BIG frustration for me is that you can't separate videos by type - that is Movie or TV. I keep asking them but to date its fallen on deaf ears.

The one thing you learn with these devices is it's horses for courses - I use the Dune for 2K, the Zidoo for 4K and a Mede8er for TV (with TVRename as a scraper).

True - I was hoping after all this time to have a one box solution. But similar I use Zidoo for most things but use the Dune if I need forced subs or have issues on Zidoo. Use the ATV for Netflix\Amazon\iPlayer.

To be honest with all the streaming services these days, ripping TV stuff is becoming less of an issue and more transient so I've started to just navigate to directories with either the Dune or the Zidoo to play TV shows and not worry about the niceties of metadata, posters etc.

And yes, I forgot - I use an Amazon Fire TV for Netflix, Amazon et al.

The other thing you learn about these devices is that if you put up with second best then you end up with a hotch potch of devices, because you made some poor choices.

It maybe an excellent test... But the Bluray ISO doesn't work on my Dune Solo.

I don't use BDMV.

As I said, it works on Oppo's.

I love the Dune Shell - their skin implementation is extremely powerful which lets me change the look and feel to my liking - one thing I dislike is the "My First Media Player" look a lot of these players seem to have.

The Med was and still is a great product, and I created a half decent skin for that, but the Dune Shell is much more adaptive and on a completely different level for customisation.

I knew I knew your name from somewhere - I used to spend a lot of time on the Med forums

However, this issue was fixed in later firmware and v2.2.61 includes the fix, so you're good to go.
Thank you, Mark.

Skin customisation - you can pretty much change anything you like using a combination of graphics, .properties files which define positioning, size etc and an xml file.

The same goes for yaDis so you can tailor the two together so it all works together seamlessly.

This page hasn't been updated since the days or yore, but it gives a very basic overview:

Oops.
And strangely enough the Z9s still has issues with seamless branching, forced subs and glitchy blu-Ray menu playback.

And even stranger is your continuous repetition of this mantra.

It seems to have become a kind of Gregorian Chant for you triggered by the word "Zidoo" at which point you seamlessly branch to your mantra ...
