While I understand your point, it's not a problem that is unique to Zidoo. Many Bluray players have problems with seamless branching and it seems like 9.5 times out of 10 it's coming from a Lionsgate studio film.
Case in point, Knives Out. We were watching the disc the other night on Bluray on an Oppo BDP-83. We endured audio dropouts galore at every branch. Switching the unit from Bitstream to PCM corrected the problem and I forgot to do this before we started the movie for Lionsgate titles. It's a problem that older BD players have as they do not have the horsepower or firmware to deal with more complex branching navigation that very few studios use.
I know that you like to bang on Zidoo about the problem and that the Dune Pro 4K works better in this regard however it still suffers from incorrect frame rate playback. Pick your trade off I guess.
But from my view, the source of the problem is coming from a very few studios like Lionsgate. And simply ripping to MKV for those few titles gives up nothing with regards to playback quality of the movie.
Yep I know, no menus. But then I don't consider watching menus while eating popcorn a viable form of entertainment either. So for me at least it comes down to an MKV with correct frame rate and no seamless branching issues vs. the trade off of glitchy BDMV folders and seamless branching issues. I real life, it doesn't seem too bad a trade off. YMMV
Don't get me wrong, I'd like to see it fixed too. But in the mean time, a simple MKV rip for the very predictable titles coming from the very predictable studios who author with extreme branching obfuscation is a very simple and painless solution/work around from my viewpoint.
And here's to the hope that new boxes coming from DuneHD and Zidoo solve all the problems.
