Thank you for the reply, the specs you quoted appear to be for 60hz. I've tried 422 10 bit at 23,24, 25 and 30 hz but no bueno. Zidoo info shows 8 bit and I think there was an earlier post that says 422 is broken. There is no option for 420.

HDMI IN1 to IN4:

Amp has zero setup parameters for deep color or anything similar. Cables test ok, hdr and resolution are ok, Oled has deep color enabled, the 8bit banding is the only problem.
When you write "works fine when i bypass the AVR" do you mean physically removing the AVR from the chain? Many AVR's have a "bypass" or "direct" mode for the video portion of the HDMI signal. That is usually the preferred method of using an AVR because it eliminates (or at least greatly reduces) the possibility of something in the AVR from distorting the video signal.

I am a bit confused as to why you are posting in the Zidoo thread for what sounds like you have already determined that the issue is with your receiver/prepro? Have you made certain of your power on sequence in case of an HDMI handshake discrepancy? Display first, then receiver, and then the Zidoo last...

Yes, I removed it from the chain.

That is a valid point thank you. Was posting here because there has been a lot of talk about the banding issue at 8 bit so I thought someone might have experience with this. I will try the power on sequence. We can let this post be the last on this issue.

In parting I will say though, that no matter what I set the Zidoo video settings to, it only ever seems to output, according to the info button, 23hz 4:4:4. My oled should accept most formats so I'm not blaming the display.

It has also come to light that just because my cables work with the display, doesn't mean they will work with the AVR as it processes things differently. According to others. Cabling is confusing what with description/specs of Active, certified, high speed, ultra high speed, with ethernet, fiber ... Hard to determine which one to try next. Currently considering the Monoprice Dynamic View, says it has the latest chipset... https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=14131

Dear friends ,

I want your opinions regarding the latest fw 2.3.10 for Z10 .
Is it better than the 2.2.96 .
Main concern is the stutter ..

If you are using NFS, the stutter isn’t improved by 2.3.10.
Switch to SMB

I'm using only SMB . So what's the outcome ? Do you think it worth the update?

OK, Stick with 2.2.96, not worth the update, but how frequently are you seeing stutter with SMB ?

Sometimes. But I read that both 2.3.10 and the beta 2.3.17 is not good at all and every one is waiting for the new stable which is still coming....

Hi Guys

One year after the purchase of Zidoo Z10 I can say that its performance are goods on my Sony Af9, it plays any kind of file, iso 4k, untouched et...
Unfortunately I've noticed some issues playing some iso 4k like this :MPEG-H HEVC Video 79253 kbps 2160p / 23.976 fps / 16:9 / Main 10 @ Level 5.1 @ High / 4:2:0 / 10 bits / HDR10 / BT.2020 / 90Gb
or untouched 4k like this HEVC Video 77823 kbps 2160p / 23.976 fps / 16:9 / Main 10 @ Level 5.1 @ High / 4:2:0 / 10 bits / HDR10 / BT.2020 / 70Gb

The issues are random and are diffucult to describe
They can occur 3/4 times during the movie (but not in every movies) and last about 1 or 2 second in which movements and pan are jerky and nearly slow mo.
If i rewind the scene, the issue doesn't recur. So the issues are totally random. I don't think it's related to the Sony AF9.
Maybe it could be some parameter to set of the ziddo control panel? Or it's a real bug or issue of this player?
I don't use NAS. I play my movies directly fron the hdd inside the zidoo

Is there any 4k player with image quality, versatility and compatibility with any kind of file (iso 4k hdr10, unouched 4k high bitrate etc) better then the zidoo z10?

Thanks

I have had virtually all the media boxes - Nvidia Sheild TV / Zidoo X9/ Z9 / Zappatti HDR 4k / Dune 4K / Apple TV and all have some sort of issue, for me anyway, the only box that plays all files perfect without stutter is Vero 4K, the issue you have with Zidoo I also had, although seemed to be for me a frame skip very so often, still annoying.

Doesn't sound like frame skip, becouse this issue lasts about 1/2 seconds during which the image is stutter and almost slowed down
And what does it depends of? Chipset? Ram?
Considered how much I spent fot this TV I wanted to have a top mediaplayer with no issues...

to be honest mine might not have been a skipped frame come to think of it, I recall remembering a slight pause, like there was a delayed frame, anyway since using the Vero 4K no such issues.

I have had an Oppo203 For over a year, it has been the only player with absolutely no issues. Unfortunately scarce and expensive now. (Supports BDMV but not ISO).
Has played everything flawlessly over NFS.

(I also have a Z9s, poor seamless branching support, a Dune Pro 4K good seamless branching support, but has micro stutter, although that hasn’t been an issue for me)

I don't use the optical drive....It would be interesting an Oppo mediaplayer , less expensive, without optical driver , more essential....
So these issues are "normal" and zappiti one 4k,(or pro 4k ) dune hd pro 4k plus/II (max or ultra), egreat A10 (A11) can't offer better performance about image quality and reproduction without issues. Is it correct?

If you try updating OTA, it always says the firmware is up to date.

You need to download a later version e.g. 2.2.96 is recommended.
Then update from USB.

Firmware download: http://apidl.zidoo.tv/Z9S/v2.2.96/ZI...ta-package.zip

Their OTA does not seem to be very reliable. To check on the latest official release - which you can d/l and install go here

https://www.zidoo.tv/Support/downloa...McQ%3D%3D.html

However note that some people have reported issues with v2.3.10 - so you may be better to stick to the one before - v2.2.96.

I'm on v2.3.10 and have no issues

I'll post here what I posted on the Zidoo forum - just in the interests of passing information:

Please be aware that although v2.3.30 is today's internal beta, "ZIDOO News" is an unofficial Russian source - it is not Zidoo and this is Android.

Not that I have any reason to believe that there's anything dodgy with these files, but better you know the script than not.

The objective is to enable SMB in your Z10 using openWRT and share the Respective attached HDDs

To enable either Samba or FTP servers on Zidoo box using OpenWRT.
(In the following steps, you should be able to use the web browser from the Z10 to manage the openWRT config on that Z10)

1. Find the IP address of your Z9S/Z10/X20/X20 Pro on your local network. Home screen - About. (e.g. 192.168.0.33)
2. Access that IP address from the Z10’s web browser. The default password is a blank space (highly recommended to change it on first use!).
3. Go to NAS Services in the OpenWRT menu, then the Samba or FTP options. Check the 'enable' box to turn on.
4. For Samba, select which directories you want to share by selecting 'Add' at the bottom. If you want to share everything enter / in the path box. All attached storage is at path /mnt
5. Selected folders should now be visible to the network as Samba shares (or FTP folder if FTP chosen).

If the HDD is attached to the Z10, add /mnt.
Then see if you can browse network shares from your Android device.

Very glad they have updated the Poster Wall. Hopefully it will be more accurate than 2.0. The poor implementation of the poster wall, and proper identification of titles is the largest reason I've relied upon the Zappiti rather than the newer chip in the Zidoo Z9S.
