Best streaming device that supports Disney+ and Apple TV+?

I was planning to get a Shield but it doesn't appear to have Apple TV+.

Netflix, Prime, Disney+, and Apple TV+ are the stand alone streaming services my family watch.

I would also like to use services from traditional networks, some using my cable login. ABC, CBS, Cinemax, HBO, History, NBC, Showtime, and Starz.

Being future proof for HBO Max would also be nice, but who knows what devices will likely support it at that time.

With all of that said what are my best options for a device?

An Apple TV would be a good choice, make sure it's an ATV 4 or higher. As we get into the holidays there may be deals to be had. I own a ATV 4 and have used most of the services you mention without problems.

I don't own anything Apple, but that may be a good choice.

I have been reading a few articles that I found after creating this thread. It seems like the Apple TV, Fire TV, and Roku Ultra support the main streaming services I want. The Roku doesn't support Dolby Vision, which I don't need until I get a new TV.

So it seems to come down to the Apple TV or Fire TV Cube.

I'm curious why the game consoles were left out of your selection criteria.

I wasn't looking for one of those.

I have a PS4 Pro. Disney+ doesn't look good on it. The PS4 version apparently does not support HDR.

None of the consoles have Apple TV+ either.

I got an Apple TV 4K. So far I like it. I haven't tried any of the Apple TV+ shows just yet.

Yes but a lot of the apps are missing something- either Dolby Vision/HDR, and/or Atmos.

ATV4k is the way to get the best playback on every app so far. Unfortunately it's one of the most expensive streaming devices. If you look you might be able to find one used- I picked a 32GB one off Craigslist last year for $80. Wait a couple of weeks for Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals.

XBOX Live: Wagmman
PSN: Wagg
BFBC2: Wagman
Steam: Wag

My Second Life character looks and acts exactly like me except he can fly.

I have an ATV4K. However, on my E6 OLED, blacks, including letterbox bars are elevated at times with DV movies. On the Fire Cube, and the internal apps on my tv, DV with the same material does not have the elevated black issue. So I have moved the ATV4K to a non DV capable tv.

New ATV4K owner here. Love it. I can also watch both on Roku Ultra but ATV4K is superior image.

JVC DLA-X990 - 128" 2.35 1.3 Gain Screen - X800M2 - UB820 - ATV4K64 - ROKU Ultra - PS4 - XBone
7.1.4 Atmos - Denon X4300H + Denon 3806(LCR) - JBL Control 5 - BIC Sub - Dayton

OK, so not a Fire TV. Gotcha.

There's nothing showing on our Fire TV, but I guess that could change at pretty much anytime.

Thanks for confirming.

Yea, not the fire tv stick. Not sure why it isn't available. The Fire TV Cube and stick have the exact same platform.

Yeah, I don't have the Stick or the Cube. I have the Fire TV. That's the middle device.

Fire Stick
Fire TV
Fire TV Cube

Still not available for it though, at least not yet.

I think firetv cube is the most versatile.. it does most apps with the best codecs. Appletv doesn’t do youtube HdR.

Firetv does the big ones in hdr/DV.. amazon, youtube, Netflix, Disney plus and I believe it has apple+ as well.
