Will Disney+ be able to handle the load on day one

With a day to go, will Disney+ be able to stream effectively to all it's subscribers?

I can almost guarantee people will be complaining because they can't log in. Most will be because they couldn't remember the email and password they used to sign up for the service. I feel sorry for CS reps that will have to deal with the mess. The vast majority of the issues will be the fault of the subscribers.

The streaming service itself will be fine. The question is whether all the various App Stores will be able to handle everyone downloading the app at once.

Media: LG 88" 8K OLED Z9 / Denon AVR-X8500H 7.1.4 / Oppo UDP-203 / Nvidia SHIELD (2017) / Apple TV 4K / Sony 4K FMP-X10 / Gaming PC (Threadripper 1950X / 2x GeForce GTX 1080 Ti SLI) / PlayStation 4 Pro with PS VR / PlayStation (original)
Family: Sony 85" 4K XBR-85X900F / Denon AVR-X3400H 5.1 / Nvidia SHIELD (2017) / Apple TV 4K / C64 Mini - Game: LG 77" 4K OLED C8 / Denon AVR-X3400H 5.1 / Nvidia SHIELD (2017) / Apple TV 4K

There is no Vizio app, cast it from the phone app to the built in Chromecast.

Vizio smart TVs are not on their list of supported devices that will have an app. That will likely change if it's as popular a service as most think it will be.

Yeah, I'm surprised Disney did not release the app early on the various stores so people could pre-load it.

Checked Roku and Fire Stick just after midnight PST, app was there.

Installed no problem. Logged in no problem. Streamed no problem.

Nope. Doesn't cast to either of my Vizios (C1 P series and M658-G1). "Not available on this Chromecast device"

So far so good. Some minor loading issues here and there so far but I can't imagine the amount of people on this right now. It did do this weird thing where it locked me out on my first sign in and I had to reset my password.

I was able to login, register and watch content on all my devices. The problem happens when you try to use search functionality or move across options.

There’s definitely bugs to be ironed out which IMO they have had plenty of time to work on.

I was successful signing in on my iPhone and downloading app. App was difficult to find on my App Store so I went straight to the website and got the link to the app there. I had to guess a few times for pass word lol but I got in!
Minor issues with profile set up but that’s it.
Heavy traffic for sure I bet that’s probably were all the issue are related to so far.
Other threads are reporting device issues with app. I have multiple devices I will be downloading to later.
Have not streamed anything yet on my phone I wanna wait till tonight and watch on my tv.
So far from what I’m hearing around the forums it’s as expected and even exceeded expectations! The hype is real! Star Wars In Dolby Vision and Atmos!
You have to expect bugs with various devices on the first day even with beta testing they can’t predict every problem! I suspect a lot of updates in the next few weeks.

Panasonic DP-UB820
Sony UBP-X700

The web version is giving me an error but the other apps are working. I'm sure they are being overloaded right now.

Looks like there are some serious problems...

https://www.cnn.com/2019/11/12/media...ror/index.html

Getting close to crash and burn! As a person that works in IT, it's extremely difficult to do a realistic load test.

Of course the media is going to jump all over it but this is about as expected.

I can't think of another streaming service of this size that has launched recently.

Shame Disney is pulling this stunt where they unleash the upscaled 4K Star Wars saga only in digital with yet another B.S. Greedo shooting Han edit. Too many people will fall for this and pay for the service and it will certainly hurt physical UHD sales if they ever do get released. I boycott all digital streaming services so I had no intention of subscribing anyways. With that said... what's Disney+ ?

Intended for families, not perfectionists. My 4 year old has already watched Olaf's Christmas short twice. I will continue to buy discs for important things, but this got me virtually everything Disney for a nominal monthly fee. I got it discounted by prepaying for 3 years.

Searching for the App was harder than it should have been on Apple devices. My LG TV notified me when I turned it on that the new services was available.

"Can not connect", The requested media is not available", nothing loading at all when selecting an image, have not been able to load a single show since 8:30 am EST. Tried Roku, PS4, cell, and laptop. It will get there, but this is as bad as an EA game release.

Exactly Teething issues are a given, but if we the public are aware this fact, they should have been more so. Load should have been the one area they were prepared for. This kind of thing happens so often with other websites that I can't believe their infrastructure teams didn't have the foresight to beef things well beyond necessary, then scale back as needed. They are Disney (that just consolidated all of their IP in one place) not a startup.

Unless of of course..."The consumer demand for Disney+ has exceeded our high expectations." is low key a play at increasing interest for the fence riders

Actually I believe now they shoot at the same time, but either way I don't care. Its still entertaining and fun. Anyone who is upset by THIS, well I don't know what to tell you except go back to your VHS copy and enjoy I guess.

All my problems this morning are gone this afternoon, seems to be working great now. Will see what happens tonight when people get home from work and sit down to watch. This kind of service is exactly what I'm looking for so great job Disney! Continue to take my money!

Thanks, I was wondering if it was just me. I have a nice Atmos setup, it'll be nice if/when the app gets that functionality.
