It's actually the same CPU as the 1295 but a lesser GPU, not that it matters.

Given the Dune linux shell, the underlying OS isn't really important and the lack of IO isn't either if you're using network storage.

I'm expecting the same performance as the Pro 4K (so slightly less than the 1296 Zidoos) with the benefit of correct frame rate and HDR SEI passthrough...

We'll see

Zidoo Z9S | Nvidia Shield Pro | HDFury Vertex² | 32TB mirrored storage
Denon AVC-X8500H | JVC DLA X7000 | Screen Research 9ft multi aspect ClearPix 2 ISF screen
3 x PMC IB2S fronts | 4 x PMC Wafer 2 rears | 4 x PMC Wafer 1 ceiling | 2 x M&K SS550 THX height | Rel Stentor III
A pair of slippers, a comfy sofa and a glass of 16 year old single malt

PD. I'm also a fan of MCH, Atmos and Auro-3D music.
What is the device that is a Oppo 203 clone?

It’s not really allowed to talk about it on this forum. You might just google it or google something like “em nein seven oh too”

In fact you are right: ARM® Mali-470 MP4 GPU for RTD1395 versus the newer ARM® Mali-T820 MP3 GPU for RTD1295
Overlooked that one.

Will be interesting to read your experiences.

Goth this answer from Dune:

Pro 4K II Plus will be on sale in June-July.

For those also more interested in a Plus version. The answer came again very quick.

Nice, do you have any additional information about the differences or are they the same as on current gen?

No, we will have to wait for the announcement, but I guess it will be similar:
2 more USB ports, HDD slot, Bigger 6-segment Display, Premium IR backlit remote + BT PointerMouse
Will happily settle for that.

I have already ordered the real box 4K (will probably do the same with the 1619 model too) but it is strange that it seems to have the exact same playback capabilities as the 1619 model.
There should be more differences between them aside from a faster soc, I/Os and the remote.

I also expected DV support from this (1619) one.
Zidoo implied one when asked.

If this is the case, Dune must not expect major sales.

From my understanding, the unit will be shipped with no Netflix app pre installed.

Don't want to clog this thread up with Real Box 4K stuff, but my musings and scribblings after a couple of hysterical hours with this box are here:

And since the SoC supports it anyway I think its highly likely that they will support it on the Pro II as well.
Interesting how they have A astrix around dolby vision, hd audio etc.. And if you read the small print it says optional features so I am guessing dune is still trying to have an additional license for certain features like dolby vision.

Interesting that they refer to andriod as andriod tv this time, dune along with a plethora of other media player don't support andriod tv but the standard android same as the one found on tablets and hence why alot of apps did not work well.

Must admit I was very surprised to see Dunes back at Futeko - I guess that's your easiest route - they ship worldwide and usually same day when in stock so I'd guess just a few days to the States.

I can't believe things have changed in the last week, so I'm puzzled by these "duneplayer.com is dead" posts - I've had https://www.duneplayer.com/dunehdpro4k-33.html bookmarked for the longest time, and the page (and main page) work fine for me. [As of May 24 2020 that is]

I hope they stay in business because I think I would like a potential Pro 4K II "Plus" unit! I really like having an embedded hard drive (despite having 14.5 TB on my nearby Mac mini).

Good morning.
Sorry for the stupid question, since I am passionate about the Kodi interface, but I would like to take advantage of the native player, does there not be an App Wrapper like in the HiMedia Q10 Pro box?
Thanks

Depends what browser you use - as I said, I needed to got to a non antivirus VMWare box with an older browser to get it to work.

The website is still there, but certificates have expired and it has old content - pretty evident it's been abandoned.

I'm using Firefox 76.0.1 on a Mac and the certificates haven't expired - according to Firefox there's a valid Let's Encrypt 3-month cert:

--
Common Name Let's Encrypt Authority X3

Validity:

Not Before 4/10/2020, 8:57:46 AM (Pacific Daylight Time)
Not After 7/9/2020, 8:57:46 AM (Pacific Daylight Time)

DNS Name www.duneplayer.com

Timestamp 4/10/2020, 9:57:46 AM (Pacific Daylight Time)
--

I agree that the site content is stale, but maybe the guy hasn't been given any of the new models to sell ...

I'm going to cross my fingers and hope he's still in business, he'd have to be cheaper than ordering from Futeko for us U.S.-based folks ...

You can also order direct from Dune.

Microsoft Edge triggers my antivirus with a Javascript cardstealer, as does Chrome and Firefox says it's using an invalid security certificate.

If I let Firefox provide an exception to the certificate, I get the same AV warning.

I think we'd all be interested to hear if you have any luck contacting them, but these are definitely not good signs.

I contacted Dune-HD about duneplayer, and the response was, they recommend buying directly from Dune-HD. They didn't address my question whether duneplayer is still an authorized retailer. I'm guessing no, but guess we will find out if they carry the new box or not.
