I am somewhat bothered by the SDE on the 55" OLED as it's much more obvious then it would be on the upcoming 4K sets, and I've only heard myself and a few other people complain about it, while the majority don't find issue with the SDE on the 55". I think it's a non issue on the 4K unless you are watching the 65" from 3 feet or closer.
Even if SDE isn't directly viewable from your seating distance, it will 'enhance' the appearance of artifacts and aliasing for some distance beyond.

I heard 65" available in November, 10K price tag. I suspect anybody who pre-ordered will be getting a call from the vendor with a new higher price.

Are you suggesting $12,500 list price by next spring? Or did you mean street price?

40% off list wouldn't be shocking. Still, $6250 on a $10K list is tight.

There's a saying about "everything in moderation". If only it was applied to well, you know...

I agree that street pricing will be much different, but I doubt it will be 50% of MSRP.
Just to set the record straight, I have never speculated about the MSRP of any TV. MSRPs are irrelevant in the TV market (with the exception of Vizio, which actually sticks to their MSRP all the way to end of cycle and then offers only modest discounts to clear out prior-year inventory).

If Chris's pre-release price of $6250 remains valid, and if we see other channels like Best Buy and Amazon opening with prices of $7000 or less as had been stated about a month ago, nothing about today's $10,000 (or $9000) MSRP for the 65EC9700 really changes anything. It means a pre-release street discount of 37.5% and nothing more.

The $25K MSRP for the 77EG9700 is also irrelevant - what will matter is the price Chris can offer us once the product is really on the way...

The entire 'we're going to set a stratospheric MSRP and then discount the heck out of it to make the unwitting consumer believe they are getting a fantastic deal' is insulting, but what are you gonna' do?

Any word on the street pricing you will be able to offer on the 77EG9700 yet???

So far so good except the September release part?

Any insight into how far into October we're likely to have to wait?

Street price and even that projection will be conservative if the model does debut at CP at $15,000.

I assume that we will get a really obscenely priced >90" model at CES this year.

If they are late, they are late, nothing new here......The release date is a pure guess from any manufacturer on product.

When will the new 2015 Z06 ship for sure ?? Who knows

HA... I'm waiting on the Z06 too!

I'm in a 2014 GTR currently and the Z06 is probably the only other contender for 'best performance value' I'd be interested in.

Odd trend, since the MSRP for France appears to be 4999,- Euro.

Ahhh, didn't no that. Makes sense then for the MSRPs in Europe. 55inch with 43% of US MSRP, 65 inch 50%. With this pattern I would expect the 77EG9800 to sell here in Europe for a MSRP of 14500,- Euro. Shame. I was hoping for a MUCH lower price.

If that's true, I guess no improvement over the older panels. Not too surprising given their response to questions about BFI at the shootout.

In the 90's I used to dust Corvettes all the time, but only off the line: I had one of the few AWD sports cars (sort of...a Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX) and I could rev the engine high, drop the clutch like a hammer....all 4 wheels would chirp and grab the pavement and I'd almost swallow my tongue as the thing lept forward. Of course my pride was short lived, because after the Vett's wheels finally grabbed they sucked the headlights out of my car passing me.
The GTR is also AWD and doesn't lack in the HP department so my pride is usually a bit more lasting.

but the C7 Z06 still sounds like fun to me .

I got updated info today.....

Looks like the 65" will be available around the 3rd week of October in VERY LIMITED quantities. So, if you want one this year, it would be very advisable to preorder now. My preorder price in Canada is still good for 6500 CAD (5868 USD) but many retailers are going to be sticking to the 10 000.00 price in Canada! until quantity increases. (could be why some websites are jacking up prices on their webpages since yesterday)

The 55" is going for a really sweet deal right now as well, but I gotta have my 4K Passive 3D. I've already saved over 10 3D movies to watch in anticipation of the OLED.

I'm not sure how the situation is in the states, but I assume it would be similar. Cleveland plasma?

Hoping it would be out sooner, but it's pretty close to what LG said, so I can't complain too much....

Well the pros vary in abilities, but the users are not all created equal either. One user here in particular I hope doesn't buy one....he'll use it as an excuse to play the hero by being the first as well as exercise his idea of a license to bash others.
