Would that be the only thing? Because I tested it out before purchase and it looked fine to me. There was no vingetting either that I could see (heard that was an issue on some). I put the 5 year protection plan on it as well to make sure I'm covered in case anything pops up but from what I can tell it looked flawless to me.

Yes thats all I would worry about .
Did you text it with full screen colour patterns? Blue , red, green. As they show screen burn best .

I also have the Roku Ultra but lately I have been having problems with 4k and HDR. I'll go to Netflix and 4k and HDR is not available. I'll try and watch daredevil and it defaults to HD 1080P. So I go through the process of unplugging, restarting...etc and the option comes back. I thought maybe it was my HDMI cable so I bought a new one (Amazon Basics) which supports 4K Video at 60 Hz, 2160p, 48 bit/px color depth, and supports bandwidth up to 18Gbps. Yesterday I go to Daredevil and HDR notification doesn't pop up but stream is 4k. I check Amazon and same thing with The Grand Tour, 4k but no HDR notification. To make sure it's not the TV I check the internal apps and both work flawlessly. Have you had any issues with 4k and HDR on your Roku Ultra?

TL/DR - 4k and HDR not consistent on Roku Ultra. Have you had issues?

I have not seen any issues so far. I think part of the problem right now is how all these devices do or dont communicate well.

My UHD blu player and Roku Ultra run into a Marantz AV7702mkii, and then one HDMI out to my 2015 OLED. I have not had any issues with devices detecting HDCP 2.2, UHD, etc...

I wouldn't bet against it. LG has followed through on most everything but the WebOS 3.x light, and that really doesn't have anything to do with audio/video quality. We're not dead yet!

Changing the menu background to something opaque and much darker would go a long ways in making it more visibly tolerable when watching in a dark environment.

I doubt a single color change is what he is referring to.

After having spent time with both model years, that's the only thing I could think of as an improvement; oh, and snappier menus through optimization (hopefully).

I like your positive attitude! Is something like HDMI Input lag even fixable with a firmware update? Are there any precedents with LG or other TV's where a software update dramatically improved lag?

I used a blue screen but nothing else. I watched Kill Bil Vol. 2 in it and didn't notice any burn in or vignetting at all. Hopefully I got lucky here.

LG called me last month to say they are working on a HDR lag fix for my 950
It's still under raps at this point but will be coming soon .
The problem I contacted LG about was the 16ms rolling lag cycle problem that I wanted fixing .
Basically the 950/960 lag is 50ms at best , then every second it goes up a ms up to 66 ms and then resets back down to 50 and then starts again.
50ms is not great for gaming but it's just playable on fps games , 66ms how ever is not good .
I hope the new gaming HDR lag fix will also stop this lag cycle

Ok guys so I got this home and (kind of) calibrated I have some questions but I'll try to explain my setup before asking. I did skim a lot of the pages on here but obviously may have missed some. This TV wasn't on my radar for a purchase at all so I never really looked in here until a couple days ago. Anyways...

The Setup
- LG 65EF9500
- XBox One S (plugged into HDMI 3)
- Pioneer VSX-42 Receiver (all other components plug into here)
- Comcast Cable Box
- Apple TV
- Pioneer BDP-62FD Player
- Logitech Harmony Ultimate Home Remote

I did sort of calibrate the TV using rtings.com settings mainly with a little tweak on the OLED to make it a little brighter.

Question 1 (more like 4 questions)
I have very slight prison bar banding issues with the TV, it's very noticeable on the startup of playing a UHD disc on the XBOX One S, Is there any definitive way to reduce this or get rid of it completely? Maybe lowering the brightness or something? Would I need to contact LG about this issue?

Question 2
Can I played my 1080p content when plugged into my 1080 receiver? My current receiver doesn't pass through 4K so I was wondering if there was a way to make it work in the tv without having to plug everything into the TV.

Question 3
HDR doesn't show up for Daredevil even though it's listed as HDR in the menu on Netflix, I tested it out with the Ridiculous Six and it in fact indicated HDR was on.

Question 4
Does anyone have any presences they prefer over the RTNGS one? Or maybe a better site that has better settings? Also any settings for HDR and 3D is appreciated.

Question 5
Why in most settings does it say not to use WCG? I saw something about the pattern isn't correct but I didn't know if maybe something was updated that I missed on here.

That's about it guys. I'd appreciate your help with this and here on out I'll be checking here daily to not miss any news on the panel. I'm loving it so far and it's hands down the best tv I've ever purchased, just a little curious about some things that could make it perfect if they can be answered. Again thank you guys.

Just an update for any people interested in a cal, @Chad B is doing his Texas tour in Jan, and he is going to stop by here. Has a new process for calibrating HDR mode and I like to see what it does. Also need to see if the latest update messed with my calibration.

Does anyone has experience hooking a PS4 PRO to one of the HDMI ports?
Any problems with 4k and/or HDR?

It still had good HDR pop in scenes, but a lot of it seemed maybe like natural light and dim, and I could see some jailbars. Always tells me blacks arent right.

I have a PS4 Pro and have used it with my 55EF9500 without any real issues so far.

The only little thing I had was the picture cutting out occasionally, but then I switched from an amazon "latest spec/whatever" cable to a monoprice "premium certified" cable and haven't had the issue. The console comes with a cable of course, I just didn't use it for whatever reason. Already had the other cables hooked to the TV.

The issue I did have was not with the TV itself but my Yamaha RX-V779 receiver. Neither the Xbox One S or PS4 Pro's 4K/HDR features worked but that is believed to be the receivers fault since both consoles work fine when connected directly to the TV.

I get something similar on the startup of my plex client briefly. I decided to live with it and have moved past that. Its a few moments.

Hummmm. Good question.

Question 3
HDR doesn't show up for Daredevil even though it's listed as HDR in the menu on Netflix, I tested it out with the Ridiculous Six and it in fact indicated HDR was on.

On a 4K disk? I think I read something about HDR on the x1s but I dont have one myself. HDR does work on netflix great.

Question 4
Does anyone have any presences they prefer over the RTNGS one? Or maybe a better site that has better settings? Also any settings for HDR and 3D is appreciated.

I used the rtings but turned down my contrast a bit to match the room.

I don't know about perfect, but mine is by far the best TV I have ever had. I don't think of anything as perfect because thats a hard bar to meet daily for anything. I am super interested in your experience with the X1S since they are on sale and do have the 4K player built in. Also what is the gaming experience like on them with the oled?

Gaming is a potential issue since there's a bit more lag in HDR mode with the LGs over a lot of the LCDs but they're rumored to be considering fixing it for the 2016 models and it would be nice to see on the 2015's
