My 65EF9500 is still going strong. Pretty crazy what we paid for these tv's. I could almost buy 2 65 inch models and 1 55 inch model today for the price I paid for that 9500.
JT78681 and DeanSch like this.

LG 65E6P OLED - LG 65EF9500 OLED - OPPO 203 - OPPO 103D

I guess I was lucky because they knocked off over $1,400 on my EF9500. They had a bundle promotion going on for the retail price but they were able to remove the bundle and sell me just the 9500.

I got mine off QVC, lol, for $2500. They had a sale on them. I wish I could have gotten another one for safe keeping. I love my 3D. I got my Friday the 13th part 3 in 3D side-by-side disc(from Australia) the other day. Its truly a site to see on this television. Best 3D movie ever in my opinion. Ill never watch that crappy anaglygh(red and blue glasses) version Paramount decided to force on everyone......ever again!!

Kind of looks like a "security update" is the only real addition beyond v4.25.70. I haven't seen anything "pushed"...so is it worth the risk of updating?

Yes, seems just like a security update. I don't know if it was because of the firmware update, but also the magic remote got and update, I've never seen an update to the control until today. I got a notification about an update for the magic remote control. I didn't even knew it could be updated.

4.26.00 was pushed to my 65EF9500 earlier tonight.

I turned it on to see the WebOS banner and then got a notification my firmware had been updated.

I did not manually check for an update.

Magic Remote was updated, too.

How do you know the remote was updated (message)? I saw the "push" also; I'm trying to decide if this is worth the "risk".

The TV said "Updating magic remote…" then "Magic remote update completed."

If you have automatic updates checked, you'll get it regardless.

Im getting brightness pops during HDR Netflix programming. I switched from my Roku to the television App and it is still doing it, especially during The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina the Teenage Witch, which is a very dark show. Please dont laugh, lol, it actually isnt half bad and I needed a new show to watch. If anyone has an idea what I can do, please help.

I did it yesterday right after my post. Then watched Netflix last night and the pops were fewer, but still present.

Then the problem would seem to be unrelated to the firmware update (which I did this morning). If it's only with the Netflix app, then I'm stumped; if it's with everything (HDR), then could be early signs of a board failure.

I also received an update. Two days later, my TV stopped functioning. The left side flashes only white and the right side works OK except for a line across the top. In addition, my wand no longer works except to turn on and off. Service says that the main board needs to be replaced. I asked Technical support if there had been a recent update. They had no record. The only proof is this discussion.

I have loved this television, but to have it fall apart after three years, having spent a lot of money, is very disappointing. LG has been so understanding. Anyone else have this problem?

Did you try rebooting the tv? Unplug tv, depress and hold power button on the tv (not remote) for 20 to 30 seconds. Plug tv back in and check again. Sometimes processes get hung up after a FW install, and a cold reboot fixes it.

Do remember when you purchased your TV? Or better yet, what the manufacturing date was? I had my main board replaced back in Fall of 2015.

You had your TV less than three months and had to replace the main board? Wow.

I still feel that having a TV for 3 1/2 years doesn’t legitimize a TV from going on the fritz. My Panasonic plasma that is 15 years old is still going strong. I have a cheap little Element 13 inch that has lasted longer than this TV.

Just had a service call. The guy installed a new main board, for $350. Tried to use my remote and it wouldn’t respond. The service guy as he’s leaving says “here pressed these buttons” And then leaves. The remote worked one time and then wouldn’t connect again. In addition a bunch of other screens come up randomly. I run to the door to see if the guy has left, about two minutes later, and he’s gone. I call him and tell him the remote is not working. He says that he can’t come back again until Wednesday. Four more days. I called the service department and they tell me that the service technician reported that the TV works fine. Infuriating Now I hope that the main board doesn’t corrupt the rest of the television.

You definitely had an "old" Main Board; there was a known defect in boards manufactured before October 2015 or so.

That was a pretty fair deal on a Main Board replacement. Sounds like he didn't pair the remote with the TV...or he put it in some sort of "Service Mode" (yes, there are benefits--and dangers--to accessing SM on this TV). Needless to say, I wouldn't let him leave next time until you check everything out. Good luck.

Now my TV goes black every five minutes or so. It restores when I touch my remote. The energy or power saving is not on. This has never happened prior to installing a new main board. I wish the service technician had stayed but he left before the TV was officially working. Very frustrating

Take your batteries out of the remote. It might be the remote causing this. Put it on something you like and take them out.

Would you believe that after installing the main board, the service technician never did add initial reboot. Did that this morning and so far everything is working. Ridiculous.

Please specify what you did for an "initial reboot". Was it as @wxman outlined above?

Went to settings, and reset to initial settings. TV then put me through the initial registration. It felt like the main board was then paired with the television and the wand....

Now TV works like it had previously. Incredible it was never suggested. Seems logical. As if customer support couldn’t care less about solving any problem

Warranty of television should be the same as refrigerators. They cost the same.
